Ping i-e Irons?

How are the CFS distance different from regular CFS? They seem practically identical?

Soft Regular 2.2° 95g Mid High Regular 2.1° 100g Mid Stiff 1.8° 110g Low Mid X-Stiff 1.6° 115g Low

Regular:

This is a really good question. Are they just renamed?

I think it refers to the increments they are cut at which makes them gradually longer and therefore more distance.

First off, And321 had a great idea with with that artistic rendition. I hope artistic renditions are the future of spy photos for golf clubs.

Second, for those of you trying to score pictures, download an app called xCamera on your smartphone. It allows you to take pictures while it looks like you're talking on your phone. It even displays the fake phone call on the screen.

Correct! This is exactly what I have been told by the tech guys here in Australia :)

I must have missed something?
Any idea of why these new irons are call i-e?
What's the e stand for?
[/quote]

Well if you say a long "I" followed by a long "e", the sounds together make the word "eye", which is PING's iconic irons name. Little bit like hooked on phonics! Just a theory, hopefully the PING spys won't be crashing through my front door with guns blazing at any minute.

CFS "normal" and CFS "distance" are the same shafts. I actually called them about this, and the explanation was pretty simple. The "distance" shafts are the pre-cut lengths for the G30 irons. You'll notice they don't exactly match the i25/s55 lines. Some length changes are 5/8", and all are a little longer. But the designation is more of a separator by default lengths, not a change in design.

With that said, that was one Ping rep's explanation. I have no reason to think that it's incorrect.

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

Think of how many things have "i30", as well. Infiniti, Hyundai, Korg, interstate 30...
Yet now, they're Internet Exploder 1. Maybe in 2019, they'll release i-e3.. "Now with JavaScript!"

Does that mean that since cfs distance is stock for these that they are engineered for longer lengths? Little less upright lies, club head weights etc. like g30 vs g25

Correct, 1/2" longer than i25 std length. Stock swing weight is D0.

Couldn't take pictures this morning but those of you asking just look at the artist rendering, and place that on an i25 head. Also similar finish to i25, s55, not dark finish like g30

Hey guy!! Got an email today at Golfsmith from ping directly saying that they were releasing a new I series iron line and a "G Max" wood line on july 30th. Has anyone heard or seen anything on this?

I just saw this in a locked thread. I have read the GMax will be the Karsten iron replacement. But this guys says the GMax is a wood line. Can anyone confirm. Maybe K15-ish??

I assume the +1/2" was at the 3/4-iron length, and probably tapers to standard length in the shorter irons? Just like the G30...?

I actually think this is smart; tapers better into the hybrid lengths.
