I ordered a Grayson and an blue utility when they announced the Black Friday discount and I received them yesterday (2 days later, 1 of those days being Thanksgiving). I played a quick 9 yesterday with the Greyson and here are my thoughts...

Best looking bag I've ever had. The cart girls were going nuts. Free drinks all day and 1 of the cart girls gave me her number without me even asking for it. When I got home my fiancé saw me walking in with the bag and the first words out of her mouth were "wow, that bag is so sexy!!". We made passionate love and afterwards she cooked dinner.

Some have said the only thing holding them back from buying this bag was the "Greyson" logo. I too had doubts about it but I can say it is *very* subtle. It's even on the opposite side when you're carrying the bag so you can't even tell it's there.

I carried 14 clubs (all with regular grips except the putter which has a fatso) and if you try to reintroduce a club while the bag is standing, you will have a bit of trouble with the irons and wedges. But I found that if you put the club back in halfway through and then pick up the bag, the clubs will all go to the bottom of the bag nicely. I'm not sure if it's because of the angle of the clubs when the bag is standing that makes it hard but after figuring out this trick, I have zero complaints about this bag.

Plenty of pockets. Still figuring out where I'm going to put everything.

I was carrying a sun mountain 4.5 and this feels lighter even though they're probably the same weight. The straps are comparable. I think I like the Jones' one better. Both very comfortable.

Seamus covers go hand-in-hand with these bags. I felt like a pimp yesterday at the course.

I also bought a pacific blue utility which I'll use during warmer weather. The Grayson just looks like an autumn/winter bag and the weather-proof feature makes it ideal for wet weather. I will use the blue for the warm days.

So what's the verdict on Jones Utility vs. SM 4.5 now that you've had the Jones for a couple of weeks? Curious because I have SM 4.5 and bought a Pacific Blue Utility but won't have a chance to put it in play until the spring.

How did you score the Greyson, I thought they pulled that one from the BF sale?

For the guys with utility bags, do you always carry when you walk, or are the bags good on a pushcart?

I'm a big fan of the looks of these bags, but I have been spoiled by the larger opening/14-way divider bags

I use a push cart for about 90% of the rounds I play. The bag works great on my caddytek, I just had to tighten up the straps to accommodate the smaller bag. If you go back a page or two I detailed my thoughts on the bag.

I am now convinced that the classiest bag and cover setup is full Seamus covers in a Jones bag. If you can get initials or a small club emblem on there, then I don't think you would ever change either.

I’m in love with my Jones Original. Have had it for about 2 months, played maybe 12-15 rounds and travelled on 5-6 planes. Have carried predominantly, once on a push cart and once on a cart with no issues at all. Such a great way to play the game.

Just received my bag and headcovers from Fire and Rose. It looks like I will just be enjoying a monthly simulator and putting in my house until I go to Myrtle Beach in 87 days35f031c9c63e7688fbd4e0648b1478fc.jpg82aa03ded123b94db3229f0570e23785.jpgdc1f2e13eab5b7a60a7eb35f2f8fd5b6.jpg

Took my new Jones Original out yesterday, hoping for a nice walk, turns out I wasn't permitted to since we had 5 in the group. Definitely not as cool on a cart, but still fun to use anyway. Looking to put some good walks in in the next year with it. It is a little tight with 14, but not any worse than some of the stand bags I have had... 13 seems to be perfect.

I jumped on the Black Friday special a couple weeks ago and I'm so glad I did. Took it out for our first round together today even though the weather was brutal. Had the golf course to myself and there's just nothing better than that, is there?

I forgot what shafts clanking together sounds like when you take a club out of the bag or put it back in. DAMN you full length dividers for making me forget that sound! Can't wait for tomorrow...supposed to be 10 degrees warmer!

Just put together a "vintage" set for occasional practice and play. '71 Wilson Staff Button Back irons, persimmon Driver & 4 wood, Bullseye putter. No better way to carry these sticks than with a Jones "Original". What an absolutely wonderful bag.

(edit: and yes, that picture was on the driving range today. yet another December in Arizona, shorts and short sleeve shirts, amazing)

This photo has inspired me. I'm going to dig out my 1984 Wilson Staff irons, my BECU Hogan SW, my Taylormade TPA putter (which has never left my bag for too long), the TM cleek 4-wood, TM Original One driver, and put them in an Jones Bag! I loved the matching persimmon woods to the Wilson Staff irons, but the upkeep was too much...

The only question, do I take out my 8-irons and bust a hole in the bottom of the Jones Bag, then stuff an old tupperware lid down the bag so my clubs don't fall out like I did one summer in 1987?

@Tommyj I really enjoyed walking with the Jones every day since I bought it up until a week ago. Ground is currently frozen so no more golf until March.

One thing someone mentioned that I noticed when walking with a friend is shafts clanking together. My friend had an Ogio 14 divider and the sound coming out of his bag was horrible. There is zero clanking on the Jones bag.

Like I said in my original post, while getting clubs in/out of the bag they may get stuck. But if you lift the bag off the ground and carry it with one strap on your shoulder, the clubs go down with ease. Then you just put the other strap on your second shoulder.

I really like my sm 4.5. It´s a comfortable bag and has lots of pockets. I don’t miss it though. The Jones has plenty of pockets as well, is a lot more stylish and is equally as comfortable when carrying. I´d ay it’s more comfortable than the sm because even though they weigh the same, the Jones is more compact.

I had the Greyson already in my cart. I was waiting for that special 3 weeks before it went live.

By the way, only the irons get stuck in the middle divider. I have 3-pw in that compartment. I’m thinking of dropping the 3i and getting a 5w. If I did that, it would be a breeze getting everything in and out (just tried it with an extra 3w I have). With lofts these days, a 4i is basically a 3i 5 years ago and the 3i plays like a 2i.

Currently I have putter, driver and 3w on top compartment, 3i-pw in the middle and 50/54/58 in the bottom.

1983 is a perfect year to guess when this photo was taken. That was the year the Red and White of my NC State Wolfpack last won the National Championship!

Mine with new Seamus headcovers

GW, hows the all vinyl bag? I'm seriously thinking of picking up another one, in the all white "Original Stripeshow" model.

I like it better than the canvas one I had. Easy to clean and looks sharp.
