This is kind of jumping on what others have said, it seems like every golf store i walk into i see a huge display of Nike apparel right when i walk in the door. Their area is usually twice the size of anyone else. Then you go looking for clubs and its miniscule. The closest Dicks and Golf Galaxy to me never even got the Flex this year. And neither one had a single putter nor wedges. How is that possible? Im a Nike diehard. I only play Nike. I only wear Nike. Everything i have is Nike. It drives me nuts when i walk in to a store and cant try out or buy anything. And then you throw in the bum whos usually behind the desk saying "you dont want Nike, their stuff is no good. Here try this TM." Drives me bonkers. Sorry for the rant. Cant wait for 2016!
Ditto. Dicks and Golf Galaxy have a partnership with TaylorMade...which is one reason I stopped carrying Taylormade. They cater to dicks. Make product strictly for them, so special deals with them, etc. And I think the employees even get a kick back from Taylormade when they sell their product (don't quote me on that, I thought that is what a guy I know who runs the golf shop said...like a spiff program through TaylorMade).

I was very disappointed in the Nike fitting carts this year. At least last year I had the driver fitting bag with some irons in it. This year I had nothing. No iron heads. I had a regular flex speed driver, fw and hybrid. And I brought in over $25,000 in nike product. I had drivers, fws, hybrids, irons, wedges, putters, bags, balls, gloves, accessories, belts. Yeah everything. And I have been Nike Golf staff for 6 or the past 7 years.

I heard with the fitting bag they were unhappy cause people weren't using them. Not in my case. Sold 29 covert drivers using it. My suggestion is cut out the exotic shafts. The "general public" isn't going to spend the money for the up charge nor should probably be hitting them either. Just give out the stock shafts with the heads like they did 2 years ago, iron heads and shafts, wedges and fws/hybrids. Charge the shop $500 or so for it and call it a day. Just my $.02.

We had the fitting cart(bag) for the Covert 2.0 line and had a lot of success with it. This year it was back to buying demo product and hoping you got enough to keep people happy. I miss having the options to work with during a fitting. I've brought my personal irons in a few times to let people hit just to give them another club to try.

That's crazy to me, we have an entire fitting cart and I couldn't imagine trying to sell a product without the cart. People (myself included) have to test, need to feel the feedback of a club before purchase. When I fit someone I use everything in the cart. Nike is no exception. With the exception of the lie board which I think is garbage, can't really define a lie without seeing ball flight. The fitting cart is a must!

Has anyone been to a Nike demo day? I haven't been to one in 3-4 years. I'm wondering what the equipment line up looks like at the demo and what the options are for customization.

I remember when I was there they had plenty of shafts for my driver but I never looked at irons.
The Tour Van Experience I went to last year had virtually everything. I could have spent all day there. Not to mention the Nike Team there were all awesome guys.

It came to a private club in my town back before the release of the Engage wedges. My rep told me about it and I know the guys at the club...so it was easy to get into.

talking about fitting carts... when was trying to get my Vapor Woods in April... i went to a couple ranges here in Aberdeen Scotland, only one had any X stiff shafts and that was a D+... no full fitting kit...

they told me that there is 8 only in Scotland this year, previous year there was over 30...

Same here. They offered a nice fitting bag this year but you had to bring in ungodly numbers to get it. No way a small shop could do that. We are a Nike Golf +1 shop. Only 2 brands and Nike product 4 to 1. When I tell people of well...I have a demo in righty reg. if you want lefty..you can swing my x flex. Doesn't sit well. Don't get me wrong...I still do well with their stuff. But 29 drivers in the covert. 16 drivers in the covert 2.0 and 16 driver in the vapor line. So for a very small course I don't think that is bad. But I would love to have the fit bag back to get those numbers to 30 per year or more. Hard to sell irons without something to hit. Heck I am still waiting to hear from my new rep.

We've had success with the Vapor Pro driver. It's shocked me how many we've sold compared to the CT 2.0. The Speed has done ok. But it's been hard to sell irons without a fitting cart when a guy comes in and sees the options he has with Mizuno, Callaway, or even Ping.

The smaller accounts will have an inside sales rep only. Hopefully, you sell enough to warrant having someone personally visit your shop.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the flex. I think PURE mentioned a 430cc pro, that would be awesome. And a tweener set of pro/vpc. Both solid options.

I'm thinking they are coming with something completely new, not just a refresh of the vapor.

I really like the flex hybrid , probably in the minority there but it's been really good.

This is a good point that I should have raised earlier. I wanted to get fit for my driver and asked why our shop doesn't carry Nike anymore. The answer is that they required so much $$$ a year that it wasn't doable (we're mainly titleist). That said I was lucky enough to have the rep drop off a number of shafts/heads for me to test.

Hopefully this type of mentality changes going forward as locally I'm limited to trying stock options at golftown (golf works) for irons/hybrids/wedges.

A local shop has a fitting cart near here. Customer service has sucked so bad over the years that when dicks opened they couldn't keep up. So bye bye pros at dicks and everyone is going back to the other place to look at Nike stuff including me but I won't buy from them. I got to hit the vapor pros that I want but off the artificial crap they have it was hard to get a good feel for the club. Plus they didn't have my shaft (PXI) so I had to use a different one. Anyway I wish it was easier to get fit instead of some local golf store idiot going you don't want that, that shaft isn't good, you can't hit that, that doesn't matter, and 10 minutes later your fit with a STD,STD,STD set that I could have bought off the shelf that doesn't fit me anyway! Ok sorry

Point is they need people that can fit you plus the fitting carts so you get what you need. Tired of looking to get fit for a $1000 set of clubs and have to pay $200 to get fit plus the shaft upgrade (but the fitting is free if you buy it from us) bull crap that stores pull. Not a lot of options up here. The pro that was at dicks put me into the PXI shafts and I have loved them since I hit them. But now they have very little Nike gear because they are not a big enough store. Etc. etc. so I hope Nike really puts an effort into their golf side because the people want it but will they bring it?

No disrespect to people that actually know how to fit a golfer just saying we don't have many people in northern Minnesota that know what they are doing.

Sounds like a chicken or the egg argument happening here.
Sounds a lot more like management operating with a quarter-to-quarter vision. If you're going all-in on establishing yourself on the hard goods side, you give the **** carts away to retailers, do everything you can to make sure that customers never leave a shop without having tried one of your offerings before buying, and make a multi-season commitment to seeing what happens. Unlike most start-ups trying to get into the big-time, Nike has the resources to make that happen, and they've actually gotten to the point where the quality of their goods can result in sustained success.

I completely love my Vapor Pro Combos. Best irons I've ever hit. Went to PGA Superstore. Ap2s Rsi2 xr pro i25 and pro combos. Pro combos by far. Shot dispersion was much better with the Vapors than all of the others. Had them for a couple months now. Loss of distance from RBZs but GIR percentage is higher. Lower scores. Love my Vapor pro driver also. Better accuracy than the Taylormade's and Callaways by far. And about 5 yards farther than the 915. Absolutely love everything I've tried from Nike. Many people are skeptical but it's definitely worth a try. Been wanting a method 001 for a while now if you know someone selling.
Some people had said they received the dot ball in their Rory 006 boxes.
But I could be wrong, just going on what some members said.
