Nike 2016

Those RZN Dot's look legit. I got a dozen probably over a year ago now from a buddy who's a Nike Athlete, they are definitely better than the other two offerings, but still (IMO) just getting it closer to the ProV1x. Nike really needs to do something about the cover, if they can get that same explosion off the driver but make it softer off the irons, wedges, and putter.. they will have a serious golf ball. Even my buddy said that you have to use the Method grooves because the covers are so hard.

I have heard that a new line is coming, not sure if it's evolutionary or a completely new line.. but the "new Flex" is definitely something I want to try. The Nike line has been great for me when my swing is on, but on slight off center hits, the Flex and Pro have been pretty spinny. The 915 line has been much better for me on those types of hits, but I prefer the Nike in looks, feel, and sound. Really excited to see the next line from them.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the flex. I think PURE mentioned a 430cc pro, that would be awesome. And a tweener set of pro/vpc. Both solid options.

I'm thinking they are coming with something completely new, not just a refresh of the vapor.

I really like the flex hybrid , probably in the minority there but it's been really good.

A tweener set as you say between the vapor forged lines would be great. Almost a Nike version of the AP2 subcategory.

Those of you asking about more nike products to try out in stores, it should tell you something when their own flagship niketown in nyc doesn't carry any golf gear. NONE.
[/quote]

Or it should tell us something about your lack of business knowledge.

Nike's purchasing for their own stores is done on a case by case basis, they generally don't sell much if any golf at any of their stores. Golf is a niche market for them and not a core market. Plus they understand that clubs more often than not need to be tried out before someone will by them.

As for the person posting about the outlet store, that surprises me but not by much. Years and years of product sales tracking go into what a store carries.

I had the VRS forged and loved them. So much that I never really hit the Covert Forged. A new updated version would be awesome to see though.

is it more about the scoring irons being more playable but leave the long irons like VPC?

Do you mean something in between the vapor pro and pro combo? I have essentially no experience with either of them but was under the assumption the pro combo was a slightly more player version of the ap2 and also that the ap2 is more forgiving than pro combo. Nothing to go off of other than reading some comments here though

If I had to do it over again I would have kept my covert forged long irons and added in VPC. Then again I would have had a tough time matching shafts. Sorry to beat a dead horse but 2 years later you still can't get recoils from Nike without waiting a month.

I went from VRS Forged to VPC's and loved the swap. The VRS looked amazing and were plenty forgiving, but felt a little clippy for my liking. The vapors feel perfect for me and to be honest are just about as forgiving as the VRS. My miss is always off the toe, so having that extra umph behind the ball on the miss hits is nice.

As much of a fan of the black and volt as I am, I'm willing to bet that if Nike offered the entire vapor line in the MMProto color way, they would outsell just about everything out there. And lord only knows what kind of numbers a retail, deep milled 006 would fetch.

I stopped at "Richard's" as y'all say for something non golf related and after seeing some nike product, I'm pretty confident Nike should do the following to their iron lineup:)

Vapor Elite= a tweaked vapor pro set that Rory switches to in 2016. Could Also use this moniker for tour/oven version woods.

Vapor Pro= give us that soft forged" in between" all modern muscle back set

vapor Pro combo=if they choose to stick w this makeup keeping the top 3 sets fully interchangeable.

vapor Speed= super game improvement

Had the choice to pick up the Vapor Pro Combo irons or go to the Covert Forged, chose the Covert Forged because I need the extra forgiveness and I was already fitted with the 950GH's at my last fitting as the shaft for me. If Nike doesn't make an upgrade from the Covert Forged I think they are missing a huge chunk of the market as this site has a 20 page thread on how much these clubs were loved, and they ended up selling out at one point.

I couldn't agree more. The vapor speed is too much of a jump from the pro combos. Though I have to admit the speed long irons are fantastic (see Nike staff on tour).

The VRS Forged were pretty big time but I always felt the VRS Covert Forged were some of the most underrated irons of the last 5 years or so. Maybe because they were replaced in only a year.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Nike come out in '16 with an iron similar to these, even if only in Japan like the SQ Forged irons of years ago.

Like the idea. I wish more companies went to the idea of using 1 maybe 2 names up and down the line and have a tag to differentiate between the levels. I kinda agree with the levels:
Vapor Elite: MB Forged Blades
Vapor Tour: CB Forged Blades - Vapor Flow Tour: Combination MB & CB
Vapor Pro: Forged Players CB Irons
Vapor Speed: Cast Players CB Irons - Vapor Flow Speed: Combination Forged and Cast
Vapor Warrior: Super Game Improvement, Combo with hybrids

Equating it to Titleist lines:
Elite = MBs
Tour = CBs
Pro = AP1
Speed = AP2
Warrior level doesn't exist, but the Nike version of Callaway's Big Bertha Irons.

Names could always be flexible.

But IMO, Nike should fill those gaps. Especially the MB/CB area. I remember having old VR true cavity backs and I absolutely loved them, and since then they've kinda shied away form that category. If Nike ever went back to a forged CB iron like that I would jump back in a heartbeat. But without that it's hard to convince myself to go back because the irons feel either great and unforgiving or forgiving and clunky.

Not that what I'm gaming ATM is much better.
