Titleist 716 Iron Photos and Comparisons: AP1, AP2, T-MB, CB, MB

For those of you guys that have odered, what sort of shipping dates of you hearing on the T-MB and CBs? I'm going combo TMB /CB.

A week ago , the consensus was that all pre orders would be shipped by the 23rd. 3 days ago however, the inclination was that there would be a delay on CB and possibly MB and T-MB as well. Another story is that the delay is simply with the CB/MB/T-MB Demo heads, and not pre ordered heads, but I have been told that there is a 90% chance of still getting Pre orders sent out for the 23rd, so possibly a delay. To answer your question directly...............ain't a clue! But with different stories coming from Titleist, their reps and retailers, I don't think there will be a consistent answer unfortunately. Sorry.

I preordered the 716 AP2 on Oct. 5 with XP95 S300 shafts for 5 iron through PW. On my receipt from Golfsmith it says manufactured shipping date is Oct.18. Hopefully will get them before actual launch date. Looking to pick up the new 816 Hybrid in 19 and 23 degrees. Looking at the H1 model. Just waiting to get them delivered.

H1 looks awful in person. H2 is much more palatable IMO.

Don't think I've ever seen a set of irons I've wanted more than the T-MB's, and I usually don't even like Titleist. They just look so good at address and seem to be fairly forgiving too.

Just don't have the money unfortunately :/

You should get them a few days before release date with that shipping date, as my shipping date is the 21st Oct, and my Pro said that my order will be with me on the 22nd accordingly.

What is the real difference between TI and normal shafts. It's "only" the QA? I mean they are done more strictly with the specs? Is this a big difference?

According to TT, it's just weight tolerance.
DG +/- 1.89g,
DG TI +/- .5g.

I'm going to put the 716 CB's up against my S55's on the monitor soon. The S55's have been a lovely club for a long time, so it's going to be an uphill battle for the CB's!

Stopped by Golfsmith and they didn't have anything in.. on either a fitting cart or on the wall... guy told me they most likely wont ever get the T-MB even on the cart... going to a new golf shop location. Stinks b/c Golfsmith is just so close to the house.

I am REALLY curious about the T-MB . . . I believe its a big departure from the U line . . . would people say its similar to the Mizuno Mp H5 line? Anyone do that comparison?

I have played the Titleist CB line for 10+ years... and recently put the AP2s in the bag... however not sure they will stick.. super interested in this CB line.

This! I game the s55s but went to a Titleist fitting two days ago and got fitted into the CBs. I've made some big swing changes so I'll have to adjust the specs on my s55s before and see how they perform before I make a purchase but I really enjoyed hitting the CBs. I wish I could hit the CBs with my recoils as well but I hit the ball really well with some KBS shafts in them. The 716 CB itch is really strong right now.

Man! You are not making this any easier. I may have the chance to try some of these tomorrow, but I don't think I'll have the time. It's really the only set I'm looking at to dethrone the S55's. I've decided to go with a Vokey PW for next season too, so that would blend even better with the 716's.

The shafts I am most interested in for the CB's with the stock AMT, KBS C-Taper Lite, and the Tour V.

My local golf store with a Titleist fitting booth had the T-mb 2-5 and CBs and from address the T-mb and 712u look pretty similar but the T-mb feels much better. The CBs look great but I didn't get a chance to hit them and they didn't have the MBs yet.

Ordered 4-p CBs on Friday. I was only able to hit the 6 iron during my fitting. Looks great. I feel like the top line is a bit thinner than 710 CBs which I am coming from.

As I outlined in a previous post. Titleist have had shortages of Demo heads for the CB's the MB's and the T-MB's unfortunately. Some Fitters have been sent them, and some haven't, due to that shortage. However, from what I've been told, Titleist have and are working hard to get all fitters with them in their Fitting Carts by the 23rd. I was told last Monday, that they weren't determined to make inroads in this last week, and continue this week. Obviously your local Fitter hasn't been one of the lucky ones yet, who have been sent theirs yet. My fitter is in the same boat, and hasn't had his yet either, but keeping fingers crossed for this week. Maybe a telephone call to Titleist for an update may help. Can't do any harm?

Saw the ap2 today. Didn't like the look. Thicker too line and shorter blade length than the 714
