The vehicle part is a little interesting...I haven't owned one in over five years due to my job. I do transmission s/w for Chrysler, specifically the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango. I also did the 300/Charger/Challenger in the recent past. These cars are basically my office (I have an actual desk, but I spend the majority of my time out driving the cars).

Mine: 2006 Tundra. Had it for almost 10 years and it has been nothing but reliable. Was my dream truck growing up. The rear window also rolls all the way down which allows me to haul 20' lumber, which is helpful in my 7-5 as a framing contractor.

 

Wife's: 2006 Sequoia. The tundra has been so dependable we bought the sequoia as a family hauler a few years ago.

For fun: 1987 4Runner. Fun little camping truck I wish I had time to drive more.

Most fun: 2016 KTM 350 XC-f. Been riding since I was 4. This is my 1st thumper (been on a 300 2t for years), and am loving it so far!

What would be your car if and when?

 

I would have to get an SUV because its a great lifestyle vehicle for me. I can barrel through the snow in the winter and haul tons of golf bags, suitcases, coolers, camping equipment, etc in the summer.

 

All that being said I would buy a Dodge Durango R/T. I don't know of any other performance oriented three row SUV that actually looks sporty. It also has 370HP, gets 22mpg highway and has the same ZF transmission you will find In $70-100k Porsche, Rover, BMW and Audi SUV's. Did I mention you can a get a brand spanking new one pretty loaded for under $50k? And yes I've driven all the brands I mentioned above since we have them available in our competitive fleet.

 

For me its a no-brainer.

Current ride is a 2012 Jetta Sportwagen TDI. I drive a ton of miles, and the 40+ mpg is a huge positive.

On nice days, its either the BMW F800R, or the triumph Sprint RS, both of which are sleeping currently, waiting for warmer weather.
