I'm not sure why a few people on here are saying that Rory doesn't care about what some people on here say or think. That's blatantly obvious, but that is no different from many people in society nowadays. Exactly...they will learn the lesson quickly.

 

On another note...when my wife and kids miss someone throwing/breaking a club or pulling a Shane Lowery...I call them to the tv and play it for them. They always get a kick and laugh out of it.

Some of you people would be horrified what's available on the internet for Ken and Barbie....lol

if youve plaed this game long and never broken a shaft over yoru knee or thrown a club your either not a true competitor or a freakish saint.... Ive only broken 1 shaft and bent another against my bag... regretted both instantly and apologized for 2 holes to my playing partners because i was embarassed..But still it happens.... I came close to pulling another Bo Jackson on my 3 wood in a tournament sunday...But i stopped as i didnt want to pay for another shaft.., Rory gets things for free... would be MUCH easier to snap shafts if someone where giving them to me

I'm guessing the ones that are saying kids learn stuff like throwing clubs from pros hasn't had young kids for quite a while. Young kids naturally have temper tantrums. I don't know of a two year old that hasn't thrown a toy or stuffed animal when having a melt down. You don't learn to throw something when you're mad you learn not to throw things when your mad. Some learn it better then others but we are all born naturally to have a temper, some people can tame this better then others but in no way is my child learning to throw a club, they already know how to throw enough things when upset.

 

Secondly is throwing a club really that bad? Yes I try to raise my kids to make good choices and to be kind but just this week here are a few news stories that I had a slightly harder time explaining to my 4.5 and 2.5 year old;

 

A mom and 5 year old daughter killed by a home intruder

A bus driving through a crowd of people in France

Cops being shot

 

Is it a good teaching point when they see Rory throw his club and break it? It sure is so I talk to them about whether Rory made a good choice or a bad choice and what he could've done differently. It's actually kind of funny when I asked my 4.5 year old this question for Rory her answer was "he could have hit a better shot so he won't get mad." And when I asked her about Thomas Pieters she said "I'm not sure what he could've done different that was a good shot."

 

Anyways point being my kids aren't going to learn how to throw a club or anything else from Rory or Thomas or every other pro golfer that lets one fly every now and then. if anything I find it helpful when one does do it so we can have a talk about good choices vs bad choices to teach my kids. We talk about how it's okay to feel frustrated or mad or sad but we also talk about way to communicate these feelings in a healthy way. Kind of hard to talk about good vs bad choices if everyone only made good choices. And it's a club toss, as mentioned earlier far worse things are being seen on the news every night then club tosses.

Tiger was a world class cusser, and he brought more people to the game then ever before in this generation.

The other before him was a model citizen, Arnie. Times change, but awe inspiring talent and an impressive record are what draw people to the game.

 

I'm not sure a lot of husbands on his barnstorming tours agree with the term model citizen. He was known to run his pen dry in various housewives.

They both make world class equipment and blades-

 

It's an individual thing-

 

For you, Titleist is obviously the best-

 

These guys could swing any of probably 6-8 blades and drivers out there and be just fine.

 

Though I've never bagged either, I've hit/Played both Titleist and Nike blades and they are both too knotch. I could easily put either one in my bag.
