The V4 are so cheap, especially with this release, that is the move(I am biased though). I mean look, the irons are not winning any beauty contests anyway, so the V4s are a little more gross looking on the back, who cares, at address they are awesome, and performance really is off the chain. V4s have to be best iron per dollar you can get now.

The V4's are so good, I dumped my Ping's again to go back. The V6's are beautiful and may beat the V4'S on looks, but I can guarantee you performance is a wash. I actually prefer the DG Pro shafts in the V4 to the AMT in the V6 so it's a win win for me. Got back into a brand new set of V4'S from Budget Golf for $339 with a 20% discount code.

Totally agree on the shaft. Played the DG Pro in a set of Nike Vapor Pro Combos, and that's an excellent shaft. I liked it way better than when I hit the AMT in a demo. DG Pro is fantastic at elevating long irons.

I played the V2's a couple of years ago, probably the best irons that I ever owned and I have considered a second set on numerous occasions.

I can confirm that the FG V series play a lot longer than their lofts would suggest. My own experience with the V2's and those of reviewers, who often seem surprised and at a loss to explain why they are so long, bear testimony to that.

When the V6 irons were launched it was as if all my Christmases had come at once, an FG V iron with a cavity that is as clean as a whistle. Unfortunately here in the UK the price is way too high for a club that is so undervalued by the golfing public.

But never fear, like some of you guys the V4 has had a massive price drop and my brand new set should be here tomorrow, for a third of the price of the V6, which I will look forward to owning in two years. In the mean time bye bye 62's hello greens.

Wilson is their own worst enemy. Lack of options, terrible site, inaccurate info (with regards to lefty). I would have bought these unseen if I could have had a clear option to custom order, etc. I shouldn't have to put in so much effort to give them ~$1100.

It is difficult to disagree with you. I can understand that they don't want to spend money on marketing and/or buying tour presence. It is more difficult to understand their lack of presence in the form of demo clubs. But it is beyond comprehension that in this day and age they cannot provide a user friendly and information website.

Do you want the specs of their product, google it. Images? Google for them. Is it meant to create a mystique? Who knows what they are thinking, although I do believe that some where on the internet is an interview with their head honcho. It might even be on here, not sure how insightful it was though.

Yep. $300 got me a new 4-PW set on Ebay. I'll hit them until they die on me. While the V6s look very nice, the changes from the V4 are minimal and not enough for me to justify leaving such a good deal on the table.

No effort at all needed! Go to your local dealer, have him contact the rep and boom..... just like that my custom FG 100s were on order! Our local guy is a Gold W/S dealer sonmaybe that makes a difference. Done the same thing with a d300 SW!

I will be practicing to get better just so I can play these irons. Those are fantastic.

Does anybody know the tip size of iron shafts of the V6's. I have searched Wilson's website and it is not mentioned. I have a set and don't love the S300 AMT and am torn between selling and reshafting. I am assuming .355 but can't find confirmation anywhere.

.355 is correct

Has anyone compared the F5 irons to the V4? It looks like the F5 are marginally more expensive if that means anything.

F5 are larger, more offset, more forgiving.

I tried a 4 and 5-iron for a while

Solid, long-hitting, clubs - but ultimately I found the heads/sole width just slightly larger than I liked - still play MacGregor PRO Don White designed blades.

More slight mis-hits with these - rechecking lies.

Wow the sole on F5 looks HUGE in comparison. Is that basically a large GI iron? The v4 looks a bit like my mp53.

F5 has a pretty wide sole, but I wouldn't call it a large GI iron. When I hear large GI iron, I think of Ping G and it is not that big. I have both the F5 and the Mizuno JPK-850 forged, and the F5 has a wider sole, but is about the same in blade-length and toe height.

I am primed to have my game ready to handle the V6's when they come down in price like the V4 did!

I went from MP-53's (among a few others) to the V4. The 53 might be closer to a F5 than a V4/V6. The V4 is pretty compact. The V4 sits squarely in the small head, little to no offset, thin top/sole players iron category. The F5 looks large in part due to how small the V4 is.

I am very seriously considering buying the v4 sight unseen; how do u think they would compare to my mp25 which I currently game with dgs300 shafts?
