New 2017 TaylorMade M1 Driver?

Same club, new aesthetics? I'm digging it!

Yup. This is a case where the M1 and M2 were so good that only minor changes should be made. No need to reinvent the wheel this time. If they can add a little more forgiveness to the M1 and then also have slightly heavier weights to have more adjustability...I think its a win.

Constantly amazed at how paint and finish affects everyone.

It's about performance

The old hot rodders used to say "if it don't go... chrome it"

For the life of me I don't understand refinishing a brand new driver.

But to each his own

Be interested to see how this performs compared to the m1/2 of this year.

M1/M2 are good drivers....new one is prolly same but originals will be cheaper so that's a plus for guys wanting one.....I've had bothe and they're good but so are many others....the human factor is a far bigger deal than what brand you own

White, orange, black it doesn't bother me...I can look down at any color, I really don't even look at the head cept for at address to line it up for brif second....after that it's only the ball I see

Never been a fan of TM drivers but I've heard mostly good things about the M1 and M2. I think they know they found a winner with this series so keeping the name should be good for sales. The fact that it has a different adaptor will be the reason IF sales don't go their way..too bad they didn't keep the same adaptor. Am I the only one thinking that the carbon fibre sole could eventually give way for those golfers who take a bit of ground on their swing?

Taylormade has said "the M-Family is complete" ...Believe it!

Why are you still parroting this line? This year's M family was complete. That line has nothing to do with future models. Please stop.

If they can improve upon the M2 Tour issue drivers and fairways, I'm in. They are absolutely sick, so any improvements would make them even more powerhouses.

So, are they going to stagger the release of the M2 later this time as well, or will the M1 and M2 be coming out at the same date this time?

TMag will do it the exact same way they did previously: release the M1 and laugh while everyone paid $499, and then release a just-as-good-possibly-better version (M2) at $399 about 3 months later. Not hating, just speaking the truth.

Taylormade said it, and it makes no sense that people don't believe their statement! While the company may introduce more multi-material drivers, fairways, and hybrids, don't look for those to be considered part of the current M-Family or called 'M' anything. This was an emphatic statement made by TM, so we should be willing to simply take the company's word for it! "The M-Family is complete!".

The pic currently being shown may just be a prototype, or an M-Family release for the Asian market. The next TM driver release, (for the USA), could look different and carry a different name as well. We'll just have to wait and see!

Some people need to like what they are looking at in order to feel good about the driver, just like sound. If it sounds tinny and you want a thud you wont like it.

Maybe they meant that the M1 and M2 would be the only model names and there would be no M3? Then they could subsequently come out with new versions of the M1/M2 in later years? Not sure, but they didn't specify and you could read that statement either way. Seems silly for it to be a point of contention, though. Although it'd be interesting to know what they actually meant with that statement. You have to figure, eventually they are going to run out of letters in the alphabet.

The 2017 Driver Market is perking up.....what a week so far and it looks like TM has some catching up the do with the EPIC (maybe the EPIC is catching up with the M1/2) and the Cobra 7 and 7+ with Arccos and lower price points.

I think the Epic has some hype advantage because it appears like a newer model than a M1/M2 2nd edition.

Agreed. M1 just looks like a freshened version to pop on the racks with the new 917, Epic, F7 lines.

Saw this on Instagram anybody have any info on tmags new driver?

It's not just throwing carbon at a head. 1st off you will notice the weights are not recessed in tracks/channels in this version pictured, and the face is clearly taller than the sole plate area. If those are in fact carbon inserts - which I believe they are - then I would guess that they have centralized mass into the sliding weights and the assemblies they move in. It also would give the face a slight channel affect ala Adams technology. I don't think this is evidence of lowering CG but rather a centralization and maximization of CG affect. This all being done to a head that was damn good to begin with. Just my guess.

I have contacted TMAG and requested a version to scaled down for we the feathered friends of golf. I will post should i get an answer.

PACO

The front weight is, actually, "recessed" at bit - there's a "lip" formed by the clubface which "covers" the weight as the club swings through the ball.

What they've done is eliminate the side & back walls of the front "weight channel" and eliminate the "channel" entirely for the back weight.

It also looks like they have flattened the area of the weight track so the cg does not move up and down as much when moving the weight around. Maybe it is just the angle of the picture, bit it would make sense.

I tried a 430 8.5 M1 and it was comical. Ball fell out of the air the last third of the flight even with me in the high 116-120 SS. Granted I had a spin killer shaft in it but still lol

Yeah that head/loft is closer to being a Remax head than a playable on the course head. I saw pure hit some balls on the course with his 430 10.5 that were discusting. Talking flip wedge on holes that normally require mid irons.

In higher lofts it drops bombs but at 8.5 it was embarrassing. There's a part of me that wants to take a 10.5 head and make a 43.5-44"" driver / 2 wood just for the fun of it. I have to say the 430 is one of the best shaped drivers on the planet
