Check the lie angle on jp, and they are one club up. That's why I'm guessing Yellow. That, and it's the code used in the promo video.

Interesting how many ping reps think they moved closer to the iBlade with this release and away from the previous slot occupied by the ie1 irons. They're not sure if the sales will be as good as the ie1s. They might just steal sales from the iBlade which so far has not been a big volume item.

I'd like to know how many tour pros are playing the standard lofts for iBlade vs having them bent stronger to match up with what S55 lofts were.

The iBlade feels great. They don't really hit it any shorter. I lost distance when I moved to mine, but when I used the exact same shaft and lie, they were almost the same on the simulator, as in within a yard. And the ball flight was almost the same.

So you're saying your numbers were within a yard of where you were getting to with i E1? And are you talking about PX 6.0 or like the old Rifle 6.0 that weighed 142 grams?

No, it was the PX 6.0 but I have always played them, so they will always be rifle shafts to me. But yes. Spin is a little higher with the iBlade. So if I hit a shot that gets spiny then it will be short. But 7 iron versus 7iron with same setup on the GC2 (Edwin watts simulator I think that's what they use). My iBlade was 172 versus 173-174. I struggled when I got them with the S300 to get my 7iron to 165. And that's been my 8iron distance since my 2013 anser irons.

 

 

Shaft is a little weaker, and the silver dot is making me hit it a little on the toe. So I think that is robbing me of my distance.

Got it, thanks a lot. Interesting as I've always seen more spin from S300 than PX 6.0 and was considering giving iBlade PX 6.0 a go. Goes to show you everyone is different I suppose.

Yeah going with the S300 was a mistake for me. And coupled with the upright iron really has been counter productive. I am going to send them to ping and get them switched back to 6.0s.

Oh so you're saying you're seeing MORE spin with S300? My mistake I misunderstood. And I've always been a fan of going about a degree flatter than the lie board tells me to. Every time I've been fit I've been fit into 3* up and it's hook city with that lie angle. 1-1.5* up works well for me though.

I recently snapped a 7i and had it replaced w a DG S300 shaft and I can not help but put a monster draw on it. I hate it. That being said I also tried a mid sized grip on it too. (Wanted to try these out knowing I will be purchasing new irons this year).

But I don't know if the shaft is causing the spin or the toe shot is causing it. The iBlade is supposed to have a little more spin anyway. But the 7-W will just fall out of the sky. And be short. Sometimes WAY SHORT. I hit a wedge yesterday that came up 10 yards short of the green.

That was my experience with iBlade as well. Shots that I flushed would fall out of the sky and ones that reached the green would overspin with the 8-PW. I remember hitting a PW in normal conditions with little wind into a hole from about 130, landing it PAST the pin and having 15+ feet left after it ripped back. The set I tried had PX LZ 6.0's though and I did not get along with the LZ at all.

The best way to fit for lie angle is by not using a lie board but drawing a vertical line with a sharpie on the ball and seeing which way it leans. The ball is gone by the time the club digs into the ground/contacts lie board.
