What will the price be on these?

Plan on $999 for an 8 club steel set.

No Way, guarantee $1,200 for eight piece set. That would be in line with everything else. The I E1's were $1,000. I like the looks of these better than the E1's or previous models. But, overall for new irons that are coming out I maintain the Srixon Z 765's are the best looking, and no upcharge for any steel shaft and grip, plus an incredible forging. Eight piece set retail at $1,100, how can you beat it?

Well considering I have the price list in my hand.... ok... whatever you say.

What are the non upcharge shafts and stock grips?

DG, KBS Tour, Pro Modus Tour 105, Project X, and XP 95. Grips aren't listed but I imagine will be the same as whatever iE1 was. Maybe same as iBlade offering but that I'm just speculating.

Very confusing in name and style of iron. Ping had noted that future models would have the same name rather than changing the model name with each new issue but this one now says I200 instead of IE2. And the irons are more like the S55 (married to a TM Rac iron) than they are to the IE1. Not sure how Ping is trying to distinguish their irons as the IE1 was a players club that could be played by someone up to a 12-14 hc while these look like irons for a low single digit hc instead. I really liked the I series irons but I'm not convinced on these ones but I guess I'll have to wait to see them in person.

I'm not sure how you are jumping to the conclusion that these are geared towards a low single digit handicapper without having any info on blade length, offset etc. From the pictures we can gather it's a cavity back iron with what appears to be just as much width to the sole as i E1. Looks very much to be an iron geared towards a wide range of handicaps to me.

One thing I'd like to add is perhaps PING didn't realize a disadvantage of removing the number from the "i" irons is that customers will get confused on which model is which. I know for a fact that trying to just type in "i" irons on eBay gets mixed and inaccurate results.

I wouldn't have minded if they just stuck with the two digit nomenclature, increasing by 5 every two years. But i200 is fine, and these look CLEAN!

Hope they're forgiving.

Because the Srixons are not a true forging.

??? The 765's and 965's are as true a forging can be. The 565's have the steel face insert.

Well in my opinion the 5 series would be the club's comparable to Ping I irons. Should have specified that.

Any idea if the PX LZ will be offered as an upcharge? Also, can anyone speak to the durability of the iblade finish now that they have gotten some play?

Half a dozen rounds in and mine look great.

Still cast?

yes

Its a Ping... so that pretty much guarantees that its a cast. They perfected that, and when they came out with the forged Anser series irons, they were great, but never really sold very well in comparison to what they do best.

First glance I think these look absolutely great. I can't wait to hear more about them, see more photos, test them out and eventually buy a set! I have the i25's in my bag. I've always loved Ping irons. I have been planning on getting the iE1's and mentioned it in the golf shop the other day and one of the guy's told me to hold up bc the i200's were coming any day now. Between the look of the one photo showing these irons, and my own opinion, my guess is these will have almost identical specs as the iE1 irons. I can't imagine Ping would stray too far from those specs and leave a massive gap between the i200's and the G irons. Same or similar loft, length, lie, offset, top line, etc. Unless Ping is planning on introducing a new iron to fit between the i200 and G line.

Someone should release something like these again.

Or these beauties. I still have a set of 4 - PW heads in these. Time to shaft them!

I currently still play these...but almost replaced them with the ie1 last year. This year I think I will be moving to the i200 (first iron change in over a decade for me).

I played those for a few years (2005-2009). For the life of me, I can't figure out why I sold them.

Still cast?

Ping did a study where they stamped an S series iron with "forged" and none of the pros could tell the difference. Bubba wasn't part of the study.....he can tell if there's 11 wraps under his left hand instead of 12.

If you've ever 'activated the elastomer' on an iBlade, it's as good a feeling as opening up a Donkey Kong Jr cartridge for ColecoVision on Christmas morning.

Stealth, TSR2, AP2's, and a JB Versa

Love the look. Really S55 like, but assume a little more forgiving and probably a tick larger. Little more offset, etc. Would take perfection to kick the 55's out, but I'm listening...

Just moved on from JPX 900 Forged back to my iBlades. It was not contest on feel. The iBlades were hands down better and by miles. Now I haven't hit an MP club in a while but I beat balls with the JPX next to the iBlade too many times over the last couple of weeks.

I prefer the Ie1 looks.....

These make the ie1 look like the forgotten step child.

They should of dropped these with the s55. And dropped a more friendly version of the iBlade this time around.

Kind of like they missed the mark on the ie1 cycle and these are a backtrack measure to kinda recreate the success they've had with the 55, but in a more friendly package.

I still have a set of these in satin, milled faces and Miura Forged. I put them in moth balls after playing six to ten rounds on them. They are super irons and now I have them just for keepsake. From what I understand, they were tour model only.

Sorry, I did not mean to get off topic. The New i200 looks fabulous!

Underwhelming, but I suppose that is the point. I will probably break down at some point and get a set. I have had the i20, i25 and ei, so I have to have my six month affair with these

After such a long wait for photos, I'm not sure what I expected or if it was going to live up to the wait. Have been playing Ping irons since the 1990's.

First impression = underwhelmed.

Nothing bad about it and I like the appearance more than the EI-1 (that I passed on). These have a lot of visual elements that we have seen before. Almost looks like something they assembled from bits and pieces of old irons from the scrap yard. Maybe the tech blows us away once they start being tested but visually, my initial reaction is somewhat disappointed. The i-25 will likely stick around another season.
