Man, I love the look of these and the iBlades.. dumped the iBlades cause I just can't get along with the feel! Will give these a chance too, but I'm sure it will be the same result!

Toe area looks kind of thin to have the tungsten weight in them; no outline like the others as well. Maybe it's in there deep. Iron looks good. Looking for a good tech story now.

It's interesting how squared off they look. I heard through the grapevine that there was a lot of science behind the weighting in these.

 

That seems obvious, but they had moved in a significantly different direction.

I think the old boys will like these. Simple looking. Very little flair. Ping brand. But for me, going on just looks right now, I am not excited about them.

So are we to assume that you do not like the looks of these?

I think they look fantastic. They are clean, have a great finish and the cavity design is well thought with a bar behind the hitting area that most likely will give it a more solid feel and the lines that can be cosmetic or change the sound...

 

I have to admit that I am biased: I like Ping clubs and I owned a set of RAC LT II (much closer in looks than the OS) and loved the design, the feel and the forgiveness.

I think they look stunning - everything I want in an iron with no stupid slots in sight and no tacky plastic badges on the back.

 

Those saying they're not fussed - I've no idea what it is you wanted? How many people said they wouldn't consider the e1 because of the tiniest blue line on the back (crazy!)?

 

My only concern is the chrome finish as I guess it's too early to tell how the glide wedges or iblades hold up? Kind of wish they'd stayed unplated like e1. Now if only the were the old tumbled finish or same as s59/s58 - They would be completely perfect

I have had a fitting booked for these for some weeks and was full of anticipation. Sort of lost interest after seeing them. They are very RAC looking, i dont know how I'll feel looking at them in the bag. Sort of feel like I'd be going back in time looking at a set of RAC's.

In any event I will be hitting them in a couple of weeks with an open mind but my enthusiasm has kinda waned.

I was thinking the same thing about the toe weight. I'm still gaming i20's but liked the changes in the '15 i-iron. Longer blade, less offset, etc. Curious what they've done with the stuff that matters other than looks. I'd be fine if they kept everything mostly the same.
