Best description of the club ( since we could not take any photos on the rep visit ) take the back design (shape) of the S55 and put it in the current ie, then look and the bottom sole of the I blade - same finish, same shiny number.

Blade width fits between the I-blade and the ie model. This is what I remember from 3 weeks ago......I'm old.

I think I nailed it.

This thread is pure gold. Well done sir on the mock up. Love the look of those. Is it the KBS tour which is going to be the additional shaft option or another flavour?

what i find unusual is the staff i know that work and play for ping have seen the new iron but where made to check in their cell phones on arrival. so to hear that some reps are allowed to take them from hq and parade them about is interesting. especially considering i have been told they look like the current ie1 but with no blue and the cavity is filled with some kind of plastic/rubber

Ping is what Ping is...

They are the only OEM that will outright suspend accounts for violation of their policy. Other companies like Acushnet may talk about it, put Ping is super protective of their price protection and pre release product protection.

100% true. I just got done with a tour of the factory here in Phoenix and saw them assembling some of the new irons and putters. Said something to the guy giving us the tour and he didn't say a word other than a "Oh look at that" type response followed by making sure my phone was securely in my back pocket and hands nowhere near it.

Really excited about how everything looks for next year!!

That is scary close to the actual look of these irons. Great work Sir!

I agree. It is pretty darn close to the sales images I was shown at my last rep meeting. As soon as my rep unveiled the images, I asked him..."aren't they a generation late with this look?" It looks so much (to me) like the s55s. Almost as if it was designed to be comboed with the s55s, and definitely not the iblades.

I agree completely! I would've thought they would like to keep the look similar to the iblade so players would be able to combo them easily.

I tried to like the ie1 but they did not feel as good as my i20s.

I know it sounds strange but the i20 7-PW felt better than i E1 to me and the 4-6 irons felt better in the i E1 than the i20. I've said it before but I'll say it again, if they could come up with an iron that plays like i20's in the short irons and i E1 in the long iron that'd be a heck of a set.

If they look similar from address isnt that all that matters (that it flows properly from address)...doesnt matter if the badging is different, you will only see that in the bag.

I was told in the meeting the new iron will have the same MOI as a G15. Told my rep I would hold of switching to the Iblade from my S55 and wait for the new iron after the 1st of the year when I heard that news.

If that is true (or even if the i200 remotely approaches the 14.77 MOI number of the G15), I'll find that astonishing considering the modern i head sizes. I find my G5 long irons much easier to hit than the i5s, and the G5s have an MOI of 14.62.

The G15s scored the highest MPF of any G iron and although the MPF measurement isn't the be-all-end-all, it's a nice reference for comparison (not including those bizarre outliers).

Really excited to see these, but more importantly to hit them. Curious if they can knock the i5s out of the bag.

Thanks for the info.
