Taylormade p750 and p770 irons

I love how they look and the description. Can't imagine the real world price will be that high. 99% sure I'm buying another set of irons this year (so far total disappointment in the J15cb) and these were the early leader based on looks/specs but if that's the real price they are off the radar unless there is some idiot-proof, perfect feel, dark side of the force thing with them.

Really curious to see how the P770's looks size and shape wise when compared to the regular PSI irons (non Tour version)...

I think the 770's will be small and the players cavity size to replace PSI Tour but the 750's will be even smaller more blade (MB) size.

PSI's (non tour) will be replaced by M1 irons

The Tour Proto - P750 irons that retail for $1599.00 will be a limited release and MOTO. Was told at the launch event they plan to only offer between 1000 to 1,200 sets.

What does "MOTO" stand for?

I hope they make more than that, or else I'd feel like I couldn't even play these. Like they need to be kept in a glass display case and kept in pristine condition.

'Made over priced to order'!

FAIL, what's MOPTO?

Too many Grammar and spelling police around here, but 'overpriced' is one word in the English Dictionary, unfortunately my typing may not be perfect but the English Language is pretty darn close, but I have fixed the original post for you teacher. How d'ya feel?! :swoon:

Those complaining about the $1,600 price tag should try coming over here to the UK to order a set - they are up at £1,599, which is around £1,980.

$280 to fly them over the Atlantic? I'll pass thanks, as nice as they look.

1600 for a Taylormade set of irons???? They bring out new models far too quickly to price point at that figure. Maybe they figure that if PXG can ask for that kind of money, they can too. How many Taylormade fans are going to pony up that kind of money? 1000-1100 is one thing, but 1600 and you can almost get yourself a set of Baby blades from Miura. Hope they tighten up their tolerances and put a better finish on them for that price.

  • 2 weeks later...

The P750 are broken down to $200 a club. This includes ANY shaft and ANY grip. AND these will be built by the TM Tour department. Basically you will have tour issue clubs that will be built to your spec. So if you use Steelfiber or very specific specs, you can really cash in on these. Just look at all the stuff that has been selling on the TM vault. From what I have seen most of it has been selling out quick. I personally think the 750 is a great offering for some customers out there. I certainly would want a set.

As for manufacturing tolerances, TM is using a whole new foundry so my guess is that these are going to be buttery soft and tight tolerance. Anyone know which one by chance?

Is it me, or are these MP-25 rip-offs? Slot and the same look.

It's you

Ahhh, yes, I see the resemblance... they are both metal.

I think they look more Ping-ish....especially the perimeter weighting...like if Ping got drunk one night and went to the dive bar after a bad round and hooked up with that Tour Exotics skank, the one with the big Ti-cups and wavy hair that only looks good after 18 holes, then 9 months later, Ping walks out his front door going to work, and TI-Cups is sitting on the curb in a fur coat with bird s*** all over the back of it holding this lil P770 telling him hes the daddy...but Ping completely forgot about that night. Ping can kinda see the resemblance but it looks more like this exotics skank, and why is it sitting outside my house? WHY?

Hit Golf Town today and was planning on testing out the i200's against the i Blades one more time.

Was told a p770 demo 7 iron had came in so i tried out all 3 irons.

I only had a 1/2 hour to kill so i only hit maybe 10 shots each with each iron.

I didn't have time to compare the numbers between the 3 clubs but the p770 felt sweeter and my dispersion seemed alot tighter.

I am a big Ping fan and hated my Rsi tp's [horrid feel]

If i was buying irons today based on my little test session i would be picking up a set of the p770's.

Will have another go when i have more time. TM might have made a set of irons i like. Damn thought i was done shopping. lol

Even without comparing numbers, was the launch/flight higher with added tungsten? Do they (770) look like an AP2 type iron?

Thanks
