Holy cow this coverage by CBS is terrible. They show maybe 4 or 5 shots, pan out to show the course and ocean, then go right back to commercials. Not showing any real golf at all. Not sure how long I can keep this on my tv. Crazy

So happy to see the comments that have been posted. Couldn't agree more with them.

 

I genuinely don't know why Bill Murray still gets any air time. The guy simply comes across as an obnoxious, arrogant tool. I would really feel sorry for anyone who was playing with him or in the group in front or behind him. We have Spieth, DJ, Mickelson and Day out there and we are seeing more coverage of some guy wearing overalls and some other guy who is wearing sleeveless camo gear who doesn't look like he has held a golf club in his entire life. Really puzzles me how and why this is still an event on tour?!

 

All that said...Gary Woodland came in quids up this week when he got paired with Kelly Rohrbach!

 

Actually on golf, how poor has Jason Day been so far today? Really surprised by how poor his first 9 has been.

Poor Jason is playing the worst I've seen him play. 41 on his first nine. At least he is playing the front nine last so he has a chance to make up a little ground. His putting is what has been horrendous.

Well we have one thing to be thankful about--the endless conversation about the "phenomena" called Joh Rahm seems to have stopped today after dominating the conversation on the first two days of the tournament.

After this celebrity mess this week and the "hijinks" of last week in Scottsdale maybe we can settle down to five minutes of golf and seven minutes of commercial until the Master's, where we will be compelled to fall into a reverent hushed silence of "polite" clapping.

I think we need entirely new broadcast personnel, network and Golf Channel--it is all getting predictable and boring.

I am now convinced that McCord is constantly having a dig a Nantz about the fact that he lives at Pebble. And Nantz is doing his best to bite his tongue but it's not working, there is just a hint of irritation there.

Enjoyable thread to read. Like many posters I tend to just avoid this tournament entirely, its just awful IMO. Rob Oppenheim was a member at my course for years, so out of pure rooting interest I have to sit through watching Andy Garcia and Bill Murray hit shots with the hope they will show one shot of Rob's who is at this point In solo second....

How far does this course play for the ams? I see a lot of people accusing these guys of being vanity caps but the scores are really low considering how terrible the weather was for a few days.

 

Low scores have nothing to do with the ams for the most part correct? I doubt many holes the ams are scoring better than the pros, thus the ams score isn't counted. It's just amazing how I have yet to see a handicap of 20 or above listed and yet I've seen countless brutal swings by these guys.

The cut for the pros is -1 and the cut for the teams is -14. I know it's best ball but these ams have to be helping a lot. Vijay is like +14 and the guy he's playing with is playing to a 10, has an ugly swing, and they're only 1 over. And considering the weather and the difficulty of the course that's pretty good.

It's ironic that Nance is getting touchy over the living at Pebble comments as he spent half an hour yesterday waxing poetic about getting married on the 7th tee and how he loves to wander the course in the morning.
