2017 Arnold Palmer Invitational: Discussion Thread

GolfWRX is live this week from the 2017 Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Club & Lodge (par 72, 7,419 yards) in Orlando, Florida. The course, known as "Arnie's Place," was owned by golfing legend Arnold Palmer who passed away on September 25, 2016 at the age of 87.

 

In lieu of The King's absence, birdies and bogeys will certainly take a back seat this week as family, friends, players and fans pay their respects to the golfing legend.

 

Notable players in the field include defending champion and world No. 2-ranked Jason Day, Rory McIlroy, Hideki Matsuyama, Henrik Stenson, Rickie Fowler, Billy Horschel, Paul Casey, Ernie Els, Zach Johnson, Louis Oosthuizen, Justin Rose, Charl Schwartzel, Vijay Singh, Bubba Watson, Danny Willet and John Daly, who's making his first appearance since 2006.

Was fortunate enough to play Bay Hill a few years ago and met Mr. Palmer.

Fantastic experience, great course and Arnold was awesome to talk to. He remembered us each time we said hello.

Those irons are pretty sweet looking, much better looking than the PSi's or whatever TM's last tour iron was...

he always starts out using their new cb when their launched but inevitably goes back to his MB irons by end of season.......DJ was another one who debut a cb and end up back to his MB, although not sure bout this year........irons are nice looking but $1600 is way too steep......

 

Justin Rose's WITB from 2017 (as of the Farmers Insurance Open) showed him playing the new P-750 Tour Proto irons. Wrx'er dunn had him pegged and posted "he always starts out using their new cb when their launched but inevitably goes back to his MB irons by end of season" It only took until March this time for him to switch back to the old MB's per the photos posted from Bay Hill. If you don't need those p750s any more Justin you can send them my way - I would be happy to test them for a couple of months.....but I still may go back to my S55's

I actually spoke to customer service at stitch and unfortunately they will not be since they do not have rights to the umbrella trademark to produce them. They are only available to the tour players.
