I still want the definition of the word' exact' when replacing the ball after marking. Re-placing the ball ¼ centimeter is not the exact place - but it happens ALL the time by every single player in every single tournament!!!

I understand the "protecting the field" aspect, but there has to be something done about these armchair experts. Don't rules officials watch the coverage?.....To be honest, it was obvious to me when I saw the replay!!.....She got out of her routine, didn't properly replace her ball........

In previous issues with phone in arm chair officials in I would say to the morons who phone in to get a frickin life. Well I still feel this way BUT now I blame the tours for this mess as well.

 

Why can't the tours establish their own local rule that prohibits any phone in rule penalties.

 

Why can't the tour officials make their rulings final PERIOD.

Imagine if they'd have walked out to her on 12 and DQed her under the old rule.

 

This isn't an old-timey issue. This is a modern age issue with a simple fix. Each tour should have people at the tournament watch every camera feed live (if they don't already). If they miss it, and the players miss it, oh well. No armchair refs. It still is not perfect, but it's better than this.

I don't watch the LPGA, but I don't have cable either, so forgive my opining on this, but the idea a rules judge at home can look at this in super slo-mo and call it in is embarrassing.

 

When I see it real time it is not enough. Sorry, but the USGA has made a mockery of itself.... again.

I noticed it yesterday when watching live. Never crossed my mind to call in because to me, it's on the players to call penalties on themselves or their opponents. LPGA should give out the name of whomever turned it. No more anonymity, you gotta own that ish

Absolute injustice. And extremely harmful to the LPGA.

 

After all of the previous incidents, they should have a policy in place and rehearsed that prevents this kind of s*** show. Extremely poor management that probably should call for a comprehensive review of the people running the show.
