We all know that there is going to be a line op Epic irons, a tour/players version and a more forgiving model does anybody know more or has anybody seen pics yet? I heard that release dat should be may 2017....

How do we all know this? Callaway has so many irons on their roster at different price points and skill levels. Their focus is probably on the new apex models this fall.

I want an Epic Hybrid....

 

Agreed, although the Apex hybrid is pretty darn good. But would love to see a larger "wood-like" hybrid in addition to the Apex that doesn't have as much draw bias as the Big Bertha or XR OS.

They were prototypes so they were raw. I was told it is very unlikely the new Apex MBs or the new Apex Pros will come to retail in raw finish.

Are the updating the Apex CF 16 iron as well?

From my knowledge, EPIC Hybrid is coming just a matter of when. No I havent seen it, pictures etc...etc..but from reputable source....stay tuned. I bet maybe near christmas or Jan 2018

I haven't heard even a whisper of something like Epic irons. And Callaway, Titleist and maybe some other companies (?) have moved to releasing hybrids with iron lines as they're used as iron replacements. So as much as it would make sense for an Epic hybrid because it's a hollow body club like woods and driver, I don't know if you'll see one unless XR iron line or Big Bertha iron line is getting replaced with an Epic line in the spring next year.

 

Callaway is doing fantastic in sales and looks to keep the train rolling but I think we'll see a bit of a reset in release patterns soon. Have absolutely no proof but the long delay between XR Steelhead and XR Steelhead Pro, the off cycle release of the XR OS irons before that, Toulon still not yet being released and last minute adjustments to their 2017 line, AND the TP Mills acquisition shows they have a lot of balls to juggle at the moment.

 

But I digress.... Northern market outdoor fitting series are starting to heat up and those will go through May. I doubt I'll see my rep with any new catalogues or product for a couple months.

From what I was told there was definitely going to be an Epic line similar to what Rory is now playing. My understanding was only a limited amount of sets will me released to the public and they are going to be very expensive. This set is going to be priced to go up against the PXG line.

Rory is just playing the new Apex MB. But it is true that the new Epics will be expensive aimed at the PXG crowd. They are not huge like a GBB set, but more like the standard PXG 0311.

Come on guys there is even a price mentioned by Callaway over here in Europe and it is not completely aimed at the PXG crowd but slightly under I for one ordered a few for my golf business and those orders were accepted so it is a question of when not if I would say......

Agreed. Never have gotten along with hybrids but love my Callaway fairways so I would be all in for a more wood like hybrid.

It shouldn't be too long until these are available, and they'll be offered as progressive sets with the standard and pro models. They look really good down by the ball, especially the pro. I'm looking forward to giving these a go. Kind of remind of the c16 Titleist irons.

How was the top line and offset and finish

Standard model is a little chunky with more offset. The pro has a slim top line with minimal offset....definitely better player specs.

Nope, didn't hit them. More of a chrome finish with what looked like a darker insert of some kind in the back cavity. I'm looking forward to hearing about the tech built into them.
