Humor at golf galaxy

Was browsing around my local GG while my wife was at the nearby shoe store. A large tall guy who needs custom fit clubs was looking at clubs and was rationalizing the purchase to his g/f. I assume g/f as they were in their low 20s and folks don't get married that young these days. Anyway, he's telling her that his friends play golf and be wants to play and clubs are an investment. You only buy them once and you don't need to buy them year after year. I couldn't help but laugh out loud. Hope I didn't blow it for him. They seemed like a very nice couple.

If she was his girlfriend and not his wife, he's in trouble already if he's rationalizing the spending of his own money. You should have screamed "run for your life!'

I did think about that. The woman was a thin athletic 6' tall. He was about 6'6" and a muscular 250. I wasn't about to say anything rude. They left GG and went to the shoe store. My wife saw the g/f there. She knows what she's doing.

Only a golfer would refer to someone's age as "low 20's" rather than early 20's. Hahaha

Maybe a meteorologist would as well...

HAHA, well done!

I miss the days where I didn't have to hide my purchases or explain them when they arrive on the front porch... ahhhhh the low 20's.

Well technically he's right, if he's fitted properly for the clubs, it should last him for a while......but you know......

I'm curious. Does having the golf club itch lead to joining wrx or does wrx lead to the club itch? The old chicken and the egg. I didn't buy new stuff until I joined this site but not sure if it's more correlation or causation

If everyone who plays golf was also a ho', then the golf hard goods industry wouldn't be so troubled right now.

I had the itch first. Ping and Bullseye putters and Persimmon drivers. Then joined this site and others and all He!! broke loose. Glad there are a lot of people like me!

Was thinking the same thing. Here this guy is well over 6 feet in height and never played but is going to pull the trigger on an off-the-rack set. And he will probably lay out close to $1000 and end up completely disappointed when he can't hit them like the pros on TV.

OP, you should have told him about this place and how awesome it is to sell used clubs on the BST. Odds are the clubs he gets will end up parked in his garage and they would have been far better of finding a forever home from a member here.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
