JT, hit your link for the Green Mamba. In the past you have stated the TX are a higher quality higher modulus (?) shaft than the softer flex options from Ping and others. But I notice you offer the stiff in the green and black at the same price as the TX. Are those stiff the same materials as the TX you offer?

We have no stiff at all in any X-TORSION model. They haven't been made for Green or Black yet in any quantity.

Played the DCXTTX this year coming from the XT in an X. My spin with XT was around 3200 and with the TX it was around 2200. I miss the feel of the XT, any suggestions by chance? I am 108mph quick transition. I also would not mind a touch more launch than my current 60TX DC provides? Feel is really important to me.... +3 handicap 46 years old

Here is the most recent comparison of KKDC XT and Black Mamba. I also included both weights. They are, in reality very close in performance with just a little bit different feel. The black mamba feels a little bit more butt stiff like a blueboard type shaft where as the KKDCXT feels more linear.

If you want the performance of the DCXT but the slightly firmer feel of the old XT, Aldila Black Mamba, no question about it.

Is Aldila ever going to make super high quality shafts like this in flexes us mere mortals can handle? Depending on the profile I can handle a 60X, but unless it's a total noodle of a profile, TX will never happen for me.

Good info. They just look so cool. I know that's subjective, but everytime one of us takes one out, someone will comment on how awesome those X-Torsion shafts look. I think I've grown to like the black mamba look best. All business with a little flash.

At the moment, black and green mamba are Tour only shafts, however I do believe that they will release to the public in lower flexes at some point in 2018. Normally Tour shafts are always made in TX, and often they are higher modulous material or even different profiles all together. Most players don't need the spin cutting product that Tour players do because of the speed they bring, however some do, and that's why we offer them. Often times the shafts are identical to the ones the Tour guys play, like Rogue 125 or Tensei Pro White. The answer is, sometimes you get the same profile in lower flexes, and sometimes you don't.

It's totally dependant on speed and load as well as spin reduction needs. There is no simple general answer.

Can anyone comment how the 80tx compares to the 70tx. I have a KK DC XT 70tx that is tipped 1/2" that works quite well for me.

We found that there's not a big difference in that shaft from 70 to 80. No really discernable launch difference and maybe 100-200 rpm spin at best. The only thing that's going to spin less is Synergy proto 75.

Going to compare an 80tx black to the standard 70x copper tomorrow. If it spins too low I’ll have pick up a 70tx copper or go back to a Gd bb.

 

Or maybe shortened the black and put it in a stretch crancked down to 12.

The black is my favorite of the X-Torsion line. Best looking too in my opinion. Black or Copper in driver and Green in the fairway woods.

We actually have quite a few guys in green for driver, but it's almost always the choice for fairways as well because of the traditional balance point and ease of launch off the deck.

Got my Copperhead today (thanks tgoodspe1991 for a great deal). 70TX tipped 1/2", plays 44" in a Epic SZ. Haven't had it out yet but the waggle/practice swing test is to my liking. With all the analogies between this guy and the Tensei V2, and the description of the V2 as a shaft for the smoother guy, I was a bit worried the Copper wasn't going to be for me. TollBros has stated that the Copper is the tighter of the two in the butt - this is certainly my impression as well. Definitely feels like a shaft I can go at with my quick tempo. Can't wait to see how it performs. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to get y'all any LM results but I'll definitely get back with more thoughts.

On the serious side... found a few on eBay. Anything to be suspicious about with them? Guessing Black compares pretty closely to my RIP Alpha 80x... but open to opinions if you have dropped it in your driver. And no... I would not put it in my r9... :)

Cool. Shoot me a message. I'm just starting to dig into the older posts/etc regarding specs/playability. Got new irons... now its time to replace my driver. Just starting to dig into shaft specs... not sure how many folks around here will have samples to hit in a D3/Epic/M2.
