New Cobra CBs/MBs Coming Spring 2018

what is with the length of these irons now?? They are 3/4 of an inch longer then TM and Miz and 0.5 longer then most others??

Seems odd no??

 

Do they measure their irons like Nike use to?

Cobra measures differently. They are a tad longer I believe but not much. Cobra measures to the end of the grip everyone else either measures to the end of the shaft before gripping or to the line on the end of the grip.

 

Also got an update from my fitter. He is expecting demos and fitting cart heads after the show next week.

Did they just start this as the 2017's a 5 iron is measured at 38.25 now it's 38.5!!!

The Arccos system is shipped with all Cobra clubs now. Perhaps this is the reason for the increase in reported length?

It was explained to me this way when I was ordering my F8+ driver

 

the club is built to play 45" with a normal grip

 

By virtue of using a CONNECT grip, the actual playing length is 45.25"

 

But if I re-gripped with a non-CONNECT grip, it would be 45"

Yes they are longer because of cobra connect i forgot they have it on all the clubs now cobra sre typically a .250” longer than other brands

Yes, Arccos is the reason for the extra length in 2018.

 

Here is a reference for you. The 2012 specs for Amp Forged are 37" for a 7i. Forged TEC spec in 2016 are 37.25". They are the exact same length when I put mine side by side. Don't know when they started measuring to the end of the grip, but with the Arccos now, you should deduct .5" when comparing to other clubs to find a "standard".

Right, that accounts for the .25" difference. The other .25" is in how they measure them now. Mizuno .5" shorter than these with ARCCOS are the same length clubs.

But the 2017 MB irons showed 38.25 and they didn't use Arrcos grips correct? That's .25 over the industry standard

I just had shafts changed out on my CB's and I wanted them 1/4'' longer than my standard Nike's. Pro shop got with Cobra and KBS on the specs and I can confirm that the MB/CB combo (as well as other Cobra irons) come 1/4'' longer than what is considered standard length.

I'm glad I bought the set back in the end of 2016, cause who knows if they will release again for lefties.. and if they do will a full MB set be available? I'd love to get 4-6 in MB too with the tungsten in the middle and toe. Any one have any answers to that?

I just watched Andy Carter's announcement video (

), and he was fitted for the new MB's in mid-December. I would hope to hear something about them for a February release. Which suits me fine, as I have a 25% off voucher I can use to build a whole Cobra bag with. F8 driver and fairway, new MB's, and new black Pūr wedges. The only thing I haven't decided on is whether to play the King Utility replacement or an F8 hybrid

 

I have 2 F7 hybrids that are both awesome. Hell the F7 3 wood I carry is equally awesome. I vote hybrid

This is great news. I was looking into buying a backup set of my King CBs. Now, I'll just wait until mine wear out and buy the 2018 version. Way to go Cobra! If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Just wish Cobra would use the snake logo only on the back with no additional colors. Stamp the year and MB, CB, TEC, whatever on the back of the hosel. Go clean with that awesome logo...
