Only club I have left of the lot is the unicorn. I did just pick up a set of rapture J irons though. I’m going to re-shaft them and play a few rounds. I’m a about a 8 cap so a 3 over round is pretty good for me. Maybe I should play more than just a few rounds with the more forgiving clubs ?

1994. Z-Model irons 3-sw (zing clones), Calcutta 4w (Callaway clone), Ray cook tiny mallet putter with tons of lead tape, Revolving drivers back then. The only driver I remember from those days was a metal headed Maxfli with a red whippy shaft.

Last week.

 

Six clubs (3w, hy3, 6i, 9i, sw, putter), scored a 46 on the back nine!!

Damn, it would have been in 2006. Shot 66 at a relatively simple but lengthy(at the time)par 73 course here in Australia. Probably using about the cheapest bag setup I've had as much of it was second hand. Have gone almost as low since then on harder courses but that does remain the best.

 

It's funny at that stage I was 20 years old and didn't give much thought to what I played or how the perceived quality was, didn't even carry 14 clubs, just played fairly care free high risk golf. Although I practised quite a bit being at uni with plenty of free time. I did win the comp that day with 46 points.

SW : Some $10 thing from the bargain bin at my club that was a copy of a Ping

LW : I believe the original spin milled Vokey, it was a 60.04 and my favorite wedge of all time.

Putter : Another cheapie, it was a copy of an Odyssey 2 ball, think I paid $25 new.

64 when I was in my 30's, over 20 years ago. I think I had Spaulding fluid feel blades in the bag, Yonex ADX driver, playing Titleist professionals and ping anser putter. I did shoot 67 a couple weeks ago. Setup was: 2016 M2 driver S60+ blue board, 2016 M2 3 wood rogue black, Srixon Z565 3-A Modus MD105, MD4 wedges in 54, 58 with Modus wedge shafts and a 40 year old Anser Putter. Ball was TP5X

I had quite a few smoking low rounds on some goat ranch courses in my area back in the day. One stood out at the old Sunset Hills Course in Charlotte NC.

29/33 62 back when the course was par 72. From what I was told that was the course record on the front side when it was a par 36 and overall I tied the 18 hole record. Now that was back in 91 or so. I do remember what sticks I had because I have some of them now still. Going to shock some of my fellow WRXers that know me--- Not a Macgregor club in the bag!!

My best round (69) I had only 11 clubs. Driver Titleist 905r, Titleist 585 hybrid 21* s300 steel shaft, 690.cb irons 5-pw s300 shafts, rack tp wedges 54,58 s300 shafts and bettinardi putter. Still use the wedges and putter.
