Artisan Golf Wedges- Mike Taylor and the old "Oven" crew that made Tiger's clubs

Recommended Posts

If I get the call for the wedges, I'm in. And if there is a subsequent call on irons, I'm also in. Just sitting anxiously by the phone, hoping MT will call so I can book a flight down. <hint hint>

I need more clubs in my bag that are branded like my 0117

OMG PReed won with Nike equipment in his bag and some Artisan wedges.... Just goes to show you don't need a big equipment contract you just need to play what works!

Equipment doesn't win golf tournaments, golfers do

Mavrik SZ 16.5 Tour AD DI 7s
Cleveland Hibore Xli 3,4,5

I think you guys missed my point.... I wasn't saying equipment wins anything it was a joke. What I was saying is you just play what works as in the custom wedges, old Nike 3W and whatever driver he wanted and won.

I see the weights (15), but I don't see any serial or customer#. The 0217 denotes the type of putter and 17 is for the year.

All artisan putters have a serial number that is tied to a unique customer number. It is faintly visible on the heel-side of the hosel in several of the pictures.

Makes me kind of sad to see one of these up on the bay so fast but I guess it was inevitable

. . .

It amazes me how clueless I can be sometimes. I never noticed that on mine. Thanks.

guy isn’t trying to flip it for insane money at least. prob got it in and didn’t meet his expectations for feel, sadly. but when you’re buying a putter without ever rolling one, it’s a gamble

Probably a “You bought WHAT? For HOW MUCH?” situation haha. He’s definitely asking a reasonable amount for it. If it had a single top line it probably would have been scooped up already

Very true and like you mentioned when you don't fill one first it can be tough. There are things on my 0117 like the milling and bumper shapes that weren't my first choice going in!

Well picked my putter up yesterday! Love this thing. It really turned out amazing, I was nervous about the gold paint fill kinda because I didnt want it to just be yellow, but John and the guys at Artisan killed it. Also shoutout to Bestgrips for the headcover!

The feel off this thing is crazy good, I haven't used a blade ever really, always used some sort of 1W or mallet so going to take some time to get acquainted with this putter. But I got out and played 9 with it yesterday and shot a 41 with 15 putts on the front. Overall what I have noticed with this putter is on long putts I am not struggling as much with the pace, John really wanted to get the weight right for me and we have found the sweet spot and knocking some long putts close.

The grip will also take some time to get used to. Its a Bestgrips perforated grip, pretty tacky, the details on it are amazing but might have to switch it out to something a little bigger don't know yet.

Here are some pics of it and one with John using it. From the distance he went 2 for 3 and I went 0 for 3........ I told him I would sell him a nice putter

It's so?- also placement of tungsten in toe moves C.O.G. more towards center of face and away from hosel-bias. Really a solid wedge with some advanced machining used to improve upon old school 'engineering' and combined with a very traditional look from playing perspective.
