As a recovering sufferer from Tennis elbow, if these could out Steelfiber Steelfiber, I would be very interested for sure if they became available for entire sets at a price no more stupid than Steelfiber :-)

I dunno, just looks like someone stuck a steel shaft extender in the back of a graphite shaft. Bad club-making if you ask me.... :busted2:

 

What you think it looks like has got nothing to do with reality, and I highly doubt Nippon, probably the world's tightest tolerances shaft maker, is going to be guilty "bad club-making". Nothing is "busted" by you AT ALL

Anything more on this? I've seen a driving iron with this shaft in it and I'd be interested to know if anyone has any information on it or has hit it?

there seems to be confusion in this thread about Nippon's use of the word "Hybrid" as in Prototype Hybrid (graphite and steel) shaft. Not as in shaft for a hybrid club, as is evidenced by the pic with the iron heads attached to a couple of them that say Hybrid on them. ANyways, these look pretty cool.

My guess is they were pretty bad performers because we'd hear something more about them in the past 6 months if they were any good.

Wouldn't mind testing this when it comes out (if ever) compared to Steelfiber and Accra TiMesh.

I doubt this is the case. Nippon will only release a product if it meets their high standards for performance.

Has anyone put one of these in play yet? I’ve not seen anybody use one.

 

Good old GolfWRX...a few pics of a new shaft, painted black (that’s murdered out to you cool dudes) without any details on playing characteristics, and people start foaming at the mouth, declaring they “need this shaft in my life”. Got to love this place.

They won't release something if it competes with a current Nippon offering. They prefer not to get stuck in the TM like cycle of cannibalizing your own sales.

Heard from a guy that works in one of the vans on the european tour that players want to try these and/or get them almost as fast or faster than they can get them to the van

 

Interesting, although I haven't noticed anyone playing them and they've been available for a while.

 

Did you get any idea about profile, etc?

Could barely get him to show it to me at the time, much less hit one. Its gonna play similar to the 120 but lighter and smoother from what I was told. His feedback from players was that you could reallly load it like a steelshaft and not worry about it, but still get the same kick you get from a graphite to get a few extra yards

I'd heard the same thing, Nippon building buzz amongst the players by making them as rare as rocking horse s***.
