Wow, that was really impressive. Wire to wire with a 63 to finish. While Minjee and Lexi were having off days, Nasa kept the pedal to the metal. Well done. Oh, by the way GC, I believe it's Ha-toka, not Ha-ta-oka.

Lot's of great rounds today. Austin, Ryann, Sandra, All, Brittany, Haeji, Jin Young, Cristie, Anna, Lydia, Moriya, Pornanong, Jeong Eun, Yu, and Stacy all went low.

Definitely surprised by Minjee's and Ariya's rounds. After two solid days, their rounds were rather unexpected. All the talk of Inbee losing the #1 spot. A bit of announcer's curse perhaps?

I said it earlier, and I'll say it again. The course sets up too easy. As Judy mentioned, any course that has Lexi hitting driver 3 times is a wee bit too short, even for a par 71.

When did Lexi get a new caddie?

I believe he's been on Lexi's bag all season. Actually, he joined her early in 2017.

Stunning, just totally stunning. Not only a win but a win by a country mile. After last season, I'd really written off Nasa and thought she might find a happier home doing great at the JLPGA. But I guess she really wasn't kidding with that first place win to stay on tour. She stuck it out and came out to land a rock solid win.

... though on the lighter side, I still think the signature is ostentatious! Like Inbee could have one that fancy, but that's about it...

Congrats to Nasa, she made it!

Nasa's Japanese name is 畑岡奈紗. 畑岡 is her last name and is pronounced Hata-oka. 奈紗 is her first name NASA.

I changed the channel, couldn't take any more of Tom Abbot butchering Nasa's name. Like Tom, I am not Japanese. I barely even know anyone from Japan these days, and yet I have no problem pronouncing Japanese names. Phonically they are all pretty straightforward, even for an American tongue. Ha. Ta. Oh. Ka. How hard is that? I am convinced that Tom Abbott and Co are purposely taking the piss. I cannot believe that any person who got hired as a broadcaster could be that obtuse. My question is why. Why take the piss out of these girls/women? Why not be more respectful about people's names? Even stupid Joe Buck figured out to stop saying "Jutañugarn" after day 1 of the USWO. Abbot and Co are quite intimate with all the players. Why then do they do a worse job than Joe Buck of pronouncing their names? Is my question to you.

In every other major sport commentators deal with names like Ndamukong Suh or Luc Mbah a Moute or Giannis Antetokounmpo and to a man/woman they all pronounce them properly and uniformly. I doubt the come easily, but I am guessing these broadcasters take the time to learn and figure things out. Because they are, you know, professionals. Meanwhile in golf they still haven't figured out that Sung Hyooon is not actually Sung Hyooon.

I can't remember if it was Friday or Saturday....did you guys see Shanshan trying to do the Pig Sooey cheer with Stacy....SNaP would have no part of it.....Stacy's memories of the Reignwood in 2013 in Beijing linger deep.

3Putt, you’re serving up alternate facts again. On Saturday Stacy and Shanshan were walking up to 17 green, talking and laughing together, as Stacy tried to teach Shanshan how to lead the cheer.

Pat Boone's nephew (Grant) said Nasa's first name is pronounced "NAH-SA." But in her self-introduction in her own words, she pronounced it just like the space agency.

I saw it mentioned somewhere her mother actually named her after NASA the space agency, something about her being able to reach for the stars and stuff.

Really impressive display from Nasa. I agree that the course setup left something to be desired, though I have no idea how much tougher they could make it.

Well, the tips (Champions) play at 7001 yards. The Blended tees play at 6640. They played it at 6331. There's plenty of room to move a few tees back to construct a 6500 yard setup.

That's the homework I was too lazy to do, thanks. But of course distance is only part of the equation, adding a club or two to approaches isn't a major deal if the fairways are wide, the rough modest and the pin placements accessible.

No major complaints though, I think we'll see some bogeys and others this week.

I was a member out there until I gave it up when baby #1 came along, and ive caddied the last 5 years.

The course is defintely set up too easy (obvious with the scores). There is some length that can be added. They play a few of the par 3's up (including #17 that can be played over 200 yards, but they want to make it the "loudest hole in womens golf", so they want short irons) and they push #7 and #18 up (par 5's, #18 being the easier of the two with shorts from inside 200 for some of the longer hitters). Last year they pushed #10 up to have them try to drive the green, not sure if they did that on Sunday or not.

Even when I go out to play, I dont hit many drivers, and there are lots of wedges into the 4's. Outside of tipping them out, for me, they need to grow the rough up and speed the greens up a little. The greens were really good, but not any bit scary. There is hardly a penalty for hitting it in the rough but for a few spots on the course. They do a great job with the tournament, but it appears the course is much too easy for a majority of the field.

Here's Nasa's player introduction from Sunday's broadcast. I've listened to it a dozen times, and I can't make out the 'ah' sound after the 'Hat'. Sounds like Hat-oka to me. If I recall correctly, Japanese does not have stressed (accented) syllables, so maybe the 'a' and 'o' are simply blending together. I'm fairly certain it's not pronounced Ha-Ta-Oh-Ka.

You're correct in that there's no inflection, i.e. ha-ta-O-ka. She pronounces it ha-ta-o-ka, without stressing any of the syllables.

Her family name means Flag Hill. Hata is flag and Oka is hill.

When it comes to pronouncing Japanese names and words in English, there is a tendency to stress middle syllables, ie. to-YO-ta, hi-DE-ki ma-TSU-YA-ma, a-YA-ko o-ka-MO-to, mi-YA-ZA-to.

Pronouncing it ha-ta-O-ka is acceptable, hat-oka or hato-ka is not.

I think it will come down to who doesn't choke on the back 9 of Nasa, Minjee, Lexi and Ariya.

I had a feeling Minjee, Lexi and Ariya would gag it up.

But holy moly....who would have thought Nasa would slaughter these 3...what a brilliant rd by Nasa...she was so clutch and sinking so many putts.

What a shot to 1 foot on 18 to really show Minjee and Lexi who was BOSS on Sunday.

Japan will now really put pressure on Nasa....hope she holds up well.

Tina is working her magic to con Whan to keep courses at under 6400 yards so Lydia can be competitive.

Pathetic that Lexi (and other big hitters) only pulled out the Big Dog 3 times per rd.

I want to eat the same beef as Lexi...WTF...a 9 iron to an 178 yard uphill par 3 17th.

Did not get to catch the telecast this weekend. Did they really say this? If so, I'm calling BS.
