I did actually post a link to the leaderboard in the US Senior Womens Open thread yesterday, while she was making the turn at 5 or 6 under.

TBH the only reason I knew about it, is because I follow the NCGA on the twitter and they mention the good play of Cali players, especially on what is the association's home course.

It's cool to see, as Robin says how her parents stay out of the way and also that as she continues to grow/get older she ends up having enough length to properly compete when she's in her late teens.

And topics of huge, massive interests here on Wrx:

1. Scratch golfers comparing themselves to #130th ranked LPGA players. Supposedly playing the same golf course but at different times, in different conditions and different circumstances.

2. Hypothetical conditions where a scratch golfer could break 85 at Augusta National with no caddie, no practice rounds and imaginary Sunday conditions and pin positions.

3. One PGA player accuses another PGA player of cheating by taking a bad drop. Nobody's right and everyone is wrong. Likewise, everyone doesn't have a clue and nobody, in the history of the PGA Tour, has ever cheated. Right? Or wrong? Wait... right? Oh I see, I'm wrong.

I consider myself a true golf fan, and I follow the PGA, Champions, European, Web, Symetra, Asian, Mackenzie (Canadian), as well as the STPGA my son plays in. So don't have the time or energy to follow the ladie's juniors, but have heard of Lucy and look forward to seeing how she does when she gets to the LPGA.

White tees are not too bad at Poppy; it does put birdie into more reasonable play for almost all the holes, but regardless, 62 is quite an impressive score. The greens at Poppy are not easy, so just making the 9 birdie putts and not having any hiccups for a bogey is incredible.

Some kids just have an incredible amount of "natural talent". I practiced a lot at the same facility when she was maybe 5? At that time there were not too many kids hanging out, but some who seemed to be there all day. Her family were golf fanatics, her brothers were there all the time and good junior players. Then I didn't really notice the family wasn't hanging around as much and I heard her parents were not all that thrilled with the local instructors (it was a Jim McLean licensed school), and for good reason, so they just called Jim directly, went to Florida and saw him. But as good as she was as a little kid, I wasn't really paying attention. Quite a few good junior golfers came through there because it is one of the better practice areas and the area is really surrounded by a lot of private clubs that are a totally different situation.

When Lucy first qualified for the US Open, someone had to remind me that it was the same girl we saw all the time and she lives just down the street from me. And all I could think was "really? wow...good for her". I don't think there is a danger of her parents ruining her, the family seemed pretty normal - they just have a kid who is a golf prodigy.

Will she win majors and dominate the LPGA? Who knows? Such a fine line from child superstar to grinding on a tour week in and week out; so much can change. I would bet someday she will win a major, seems logical, but you just never know. It's just cool to see a kid who loves playing and can shoot those kinds of scores - amazing.

Amazing talent, and I certainly believe she'll be a power house on the LPGA before long.

That said, only a few people have any clue about junior golf, especially women's golf.

I played Poppy Hills 2 weeks before the US Girls Juniors and they had nets over tee boxes between “3 Poppy” and “2 Poppy” markers. The greens were fast & firm. Cart paths only because they didn’t want tire tracks influencing the outcome. I stunk up the place that day. Tough course all around.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
