In Richmond for a work event....= VA distillery event sampling what each place makes, at a art mueseum, getting paid....can't complain. Now at Station 2 for what I was told is the best burger in town till traffic dies down. Marketing push this year to capture business win Breweries, vineyards, distilleries in VA DC MD.

 

We were just down there for a weekend for a Kane Brown concert, and discovered Belle Isle Honey Habenero moonshine. They are a local distillery and all of their stuff is super good. Would recommend to check it out.

Whether or not you make putts in a given round has nothing to do with whether or not you are a great putter. You can be a great putter in terms of technique, tempo, ability to start on the line you pick - and just on a given night you dont make them. S happens.

 

Speaking of. Was out for a run this afternoon, tried to cut a corner between two sidewalks and went straight down on the wet grass, left ankle folded completely flat underneath me. Pop pop pop, I was legit concerned. Thankfully was close to home, managed to get back so my wife could drive me to the ER. First time in 40+ years I've been to an ER so I guess there's a first time for everything. Four x-rays later, at least its not broken, severe sprain, 7-10 days in a hard splint. They tried to give me Vicodin but when I took it for my back a few years ago, it really messed me up and in absolutely no good ways. So I'm breaking out the good Glenlivet instead.

 

Thankfully I work in the 2nd biggest office building in the DC area so...crutching around that should be a good time.

 

Jesus mother f this has been some week so far. Looking forward to a meteorite crashing through our roof tomorrow.

Bubba, IMO, if you're getting everything inside of 20 feet to the hole, generally missing high side, not 3 putting inside of 45 feet and maybe leaving a few dead center short, you're putting all right.

 

As others said, whether they go in or not can be a real coin flip. Really want to making the majority inside of 7 feet though and not missing any shorties. That's how I judge it anyway.

 

Played Waverly today with Fabb and Bae. Game : Every hole was 1v2 with carryovers and junk. Rotated the single thru the order. Sully, if we knew you were playing, we'd have tossed it out. It was kind of hit and run, though. I didn't even know if I was playing until today.

 

Anyway, on 18, it's me and Fabb vs Bae. Bae and I are in for par, then this happened...

In other news... Waverly Woods changed their logo.

 

It's no longer the stone house with the little window. It's a tree. A nice looking tree. Monochrome on the merch. Multicolored on the card.

 

I'm not in favor of this. A trillion courses have a tree.

 

Apparently the stone house ("corn shack") has crumbled. Or they just want a change. Whatever. It's nice. I just thought the stone shack was pretty unique.

Though to be fair, I really dont care what their logo is. Unless you are an iconic course that sells a lot of merchandise, Im not sure what a great logo does for a course. Just keep it decent and professional.

Fairways are okay but greens are so so. No one is fixing ball marks at all.

If they took a picture of an actual iconic tree at WW, shopjobbed out the background, vectorized it and used a gradient color scheme... yeah, it’s still not good.

 

I’m betting they didn’t do any of that, which makes it worse. It’s a clipart logo, which is pretty much the worst thing I can say about it.

 

In spite of its name, I don’t think Waverly Woods is known for its trees. Hard for me to say exactly what they are known for. I would recognize their old logo pretty much anywhere tho.

GTWpmedition: Not sure, maybe a Large W and averly oods beside it. Maybe have some trees below the logo, even though I don't remember a lot of trees at the course. Must've been due to the heat exhaustion. Use a simple color scheme such as just a Black lettering on a cream background and the trees actually be trees instead of overall gradient.

I Ike both suggestions so far. Will create a series of potential replacement logos and send to the GM on Monday. The pen1s etch is choice numero uno.

 

Maybe we will get after foursome out of the deal. I’m sure they will appreciate all the unsolicited input. Other option: lifetime ban.

Played a dew sweeper at PB Dye this morning. 1st off at 730 so I could be at my daughter's new townhouse at noon for the HVAC guys and carpet cleaners. Sweaty mess after playing. Nothing special. 2 birdies, a few doubles, 85

 

Got home, changed into a tee shirt and loaded up a friend's pickup with deck furniture, grill, lawnmower, etc. 2nd shirt sweated through

 

HVAC guys got there at 2:30, of course. Rug cleaner guy got there at 7. Put together the deck furniture, fixed a toilet, replaced the dryer vent, and a few other odd/Dad jobs.

 

Tired. Read all of the posts from today and didn't comprehend much. Tough couple of days for DC and GoTime. Sorry guys.

DC, a couple guys in my office have used the knee scooter thing. No F'ing way you can use crutches at our place.

 

Took my 20 minutes or so to make it upstairs, it was also hot AF out so I was irritated and drenched. At least I thought ahead and wore the dri-fit pants.

 

Hoping I can take this thing off Monday, its more of an irritant than anything else. If it was going to be longer I would buy one of those knee scooters.But for $200 I can deal with the crutches. Will have my wife check Facebook Marketplace though, this strikes me as something people pay for and then never use again.

At least wrx has learned to stop watermarking every single thing they upload to the site. God was that annoying.

Checked out my 900's yesterday. They also have a little "plate" on the back that never really registered with me. It looks more severe in this picture than it does in real life. I'm not sure what the idea of it is, maybe just to decorate the back of the iron.

One of my buddies is currently using one after toe surgery....I may or may not have hijacked it and road down the hill in the parking lot. Lets just say that they will fly but are not very stable, managed to stay upright and broke the land speed record but it could've ended badly.

 

Being as it is only for a few days you might want to look into renting them, think you can find one to rent around $100

I always liked the WW logo, it was unique. I dont feel like they are actually known for their big trees but it they are, maybe thats why the change. Seems like a step backwards though.

Yeah my wife found a couple options on FB Marketplace. I'm changing my mind every time I have to crutch around this place, there was a heavy duty one on there for $200, if I can buy that maybe for $180 and sell it for $150 when I'm done, seems like a reasonable rental price.
