I first found out my now-wife was a communications major when I made a joke about all the football dropouts being communications majors.

Had a similar situation 20 years ago, but replace "communications" with "sociology".

 

When I typed in "eagle1997", my autocomplete did this. . .

I just Googled Eagle1997: I'm sure we all thought it was a golf nickname and the year of graduation/marriage/circumcision, but no...

So hot out today. Rotated two hats and four gloves...and still had to pull the rain glove out. Crapped the bed on the back (really the front 9 since I started on the back) after a promising front. Driver was horrible and putter was hot and cold.

 

Buddy hooked me up with some of the AVX balls. Seem like a softer compression ProV. I like them. I have no idea what they cost but I'm guessing they are in the ProV range so I will probably not be buying any. But if they are free, I'll play the s&*t out of them.

 

And I'm all in on the old man graphite shafts. I think I'm even going to put them in my wedges.

 

I'm off to order a walker...with hand brakes.

It was heinous out. But good news, I think me and my bro in law locked in our Championship at league tonight. Shot a 40 and was pleased with that given how little interest I had due to heat and how moist I was…..all over.

Vision is coming back slowly. I am back to the point where I am seeing the same as when I wouldn’t wear my glasses before. Should be a lot better by the weekend.

 

Found out right before surgery that drinking alcohol while recovering was recommended by my doctor (Andrew Holtzman w/TLC). That right there was a game changer and made the last 5 days much better. Pour a beer, go Lay on the basement couch in the dark and drink and listen to podcasts. So rough.

 

Finally listened to NLU and see what everyone has been saying about Tron. The Bandon episode was getting me excited but then he would talk about something and it was a turn off.

 

The ClubProGuy episode was a pretty good listen.

 

Back to work tomorrow with hopefully better vision. Hopefully some golf this weekend.

Had two tough birdies tonight in our mens league closeout event. Turned into an impromptu memorial service for a buddy that died in a car accident on Friday. Gotta be honest, I dont really deal with situations like that very well. Guy was in his early 30s, wife is 8 months pregnant with their first.

 

Going to finish off the last of my Yamazaki 12 and maybe skip work tomorrow.

 

For NoVa guys, found out that Pinecrest is upgrading their new indoor simulator. I guess they had someone donate a Trackman 4 so they are going to be renting it out starting in September either for indoor golf this winter or just practice. $50 first hr, $30 each additional. Will be bookable online.

City it is 54 holes over 3 days. Truthfully there is not a lot of really good golfers like there use to be. 27 guys signed up for the championship flight so far. There is probably 15 that can win it and I am not one of them. But you never know "Lightning in a bottle can strike". I just like the challenge so I'll give it a shot again. Finished 9th last year in some very bad weather for the weekend. Hoping it stays dry so my changes increase. Last year it was windy, wet and long. Hit balls for an hour yesterday then left because of the heat. Went thru the bag three times hitting every club with five balls each. Working on foot work and tempo. Today is short game day.

Thankfully we salvaged a halve on the last hole. We were down one on #18 at Needwood (hardest hole on the course), and my partner managed an epic par from 10 yards right of the green.

Ok Eagle here it is for the regular stroke play and the Senior stroke play that starts in two weeks.

Starting two weeks prior:

Play - Mondays, Wed., Saturday and Sunday

Practice Range - Mon. Tues. Friday Sunday(each day work on one part of the swing)

Short Game Range - Thursday two hours, Saturday & Sunday 1/2 hour prior to playing

 

Spend a 1/2 hour doing putting drills 5 day a week

 

I will be as ready as I can be, confidence my man confidence.

Not really Gmen. Working 5am to 11:30 and then leave. Stop at the CC on the way home and do this stuff. Tee off at 1pm done in 3hrs. and then home for dinner most days. Halfway retired with full time pay.
