I got to hit these yesterday. they do not feel that great. Pretty harsh actually. but the ball goes forever. I dont know what the lofts are but i was hitting a 9 iron 185 carry. wrx irons at their best. from the top they actually look pretty good. They just are not soft feeling at all.

So about 3-4 weeks ago the rep came out on a Tuesday and did a fitting for two members at our club for these and they received them that Friday. Talk about a turnaround. I saw them in person they are pretty interesting. When one of the other members asked how much these cost him. The guy had a pretty classic line. His response "They don't put pockets on caskets!!!"

PXG 0311 Gen 1 line w/ DG Tour Issue shafts are the best deal on the market currently for these types of irons. $175 / club - that's less expensive than any of the CNCPT, TM 790/760, Ping i500, TMB's, Epic, etc.

Lots of people here like to hate on PXG and the tech, but it seems a lot of OEM's are following suit...

I tried the T-MB and the C16 and liked the C16 a lot better--much more forgiving for me. These two new designs look like they'll play more like the C16 than T-MBs for me.

I call shenanigans ! no way these go for 4 grand a set. Maybe 1400 a set.

the TMB is already 2k

People laugh(ed) at PXG and now look at club market....he was genius and all major co can thank em for letting them to raise their own prices and get it....I wont pay that kinda money but whateves, apparantly quite a few will

I’d venture to say the discounted prices have contributed the most.

But, what was supposed to set PXG apart was the complete customization and supposed truly unique and dynamic fitting system. You're not getting that on the online fitting for the Gen 1 irons. There is only a price drop because they have to get rid of old product. The other models you're comparing them to are current models not old products from the OEM.

I'm just saying that it's a great deal at $175/club regardless of if they are a year model old or not. The quality of the clubs and the no up-charge premium shaft options are hard to beat at that price. Who else is offering DG tour issue or AeroTech Steel Fiber shafts stock?

Just funny that a lot of critiques claimed PXG's tech was useless and the price was unreasonable. Now look at the market...

(*Don't get me wrong, the full retail price is still a little steep for my tastes but it's not exorbitant)

I'm wondering how much better they are than t-mb's ??

I've changed my t-mb's from Modus 105x to PX LZ 6.0 .. to now DG Xp115 x100 .... and the xp115's .... really make these clubs shine

Chris92009 did you get a set? Any hard #'s to share?

Saw on instagram, forget the page but it was a clubfitter in Atlanta if I remember correctly, that they are sending out limited releases of the cncpt irons to test the market. I'll check back to see if I can find the page.

Edit: here's one link:

They seem to be only at custom fitting studios though

Iirc the C16 driver ended up being pretty similar to what 917 turned out to be. Same with the irons and the following ap1 (maybe ap3?) series. At least thats what it seems like to me. A chance for early adopters to get the new products.

Assuming this trend is correct, what would you predict these new concept irons to be? Im thinking maybe the next 720 t-mb?

I don't think they ever did a formal announcement or published the specs. I know they sold the initial allotment of 500 sets per model pretty quickly just by word of mouth. I have a mixed set but I am going to wait and give them a fair shot to beat out my 790s and apex 19 mixed set once the temps are up. I have burned myself in the past trying to evaluate on course performance during the winter. I want to get my bag set earlier this year but I also don't want to be second guessing my decisions because my 7 iron didn't carry far enough when it was 38 degrees. I love the look and feel of the concepts. I just need the gaps and carry numbers to be what I need.
