I played the 17 m1 for a year. And owned the 17m2 version 1 and 2. The first one was ping G30 bad.

Me too. I did like the 2016 sound a little more, but I wouldn’t say the sound is bad on the 17s. Definitely nowhere near my friend’s TopFlite frying pan that can be heard across the course.

Maybe so. She was loud . The m1 was loaded with melt. So it’s possible. But I also thought that was the reason for v1 and v2 ? To Fix the sound.

Orange. A red orange, but it's considered orange.

I have a friend who runs a golf shop and hit the M6. He said distance and forgiveness was good but the sound was awful. He compared it to the old FT composite head Callaway driver's. Said it was a dull "thud". This is someone's opinion, not mine but thought I would share.

 

Did he get a chance to hit the M5 too?

I was actually going to state this, but was second guessing myself as to whether that's what I heard during the meeting. I do know they went as far as having the orange band on the Tensei shaft tweaked so that the orange is darker and matches the orange used in the heads.

14, 16, 18 I believe.

 

I think it was 14, 15, & 18° for M5 Fw

15 & 18° M6 Fw

16° M6 Fw d-type

These mythical fairways are going to have to be really excellent to top the 17 m1 or the deep faced 16 m2 and 17 m2 tour. That lineup is the best fairways made in my opinion. Ever.
