Yes I hit the M5 fwy a month ago. Currently play the 16 M2. Sound and feel reminds me of the old R11 titanium fwy, very hot off the face. The 65g sliding weight does promote ball flight. You will love the performance if you can handle the price. Nice small compact head design with a little taller face.

I don’t think so, I actually like the larger M6. Sound was similar to the M2. Refresh will be M5 driver, M6 fwy and hybrid, 760 irons.

Would you do cross testing with other heads?

Yes. I always start with my 2016 M2. Then test everything against it. I typically hit my M2 first every time. That way numbers are fair test due to swing variance. Nothing worse than being “on” one day and keeping those numbers to compare against another driver on a day when the swing is garbage.

 

I did testing last night with my M2 and the Cobra F9. When all the heads come in I’ll test all of them against one another.

 

Numbers from last night from my simulator...5 ball avg...TP5 golf ball

 

M2: 10.5 (set 1 notch higher) KK Silv 60 Stiff

Total Dist-287

Ball speed-156.3

F9: 10.5 (set std) Atmos Tour Spec Blue 60 Stiff

I set the drivers as close the the same as possible. When the TM heads come in, I’ll use my KK Silv on all to eliminate that variable. I’m about two weeks my new Fitting Center will be finished at our driving range. I’ll retest then on Flightscope.

 

Is your M2 head tour issued? If not, I'm guessing the actual face loft on the M2 is higher than the F9 which is causing the launch and spin difference you have posted. Try the test with the opposite - lower the loft on the M2. You'll be bringing the two heads to much closer to the same loft and I bet the gap shrinks.

I see you are upgrading from the m4 hybrid. I love my m4 hybrids right now. Are you upgrading due to twist face, other performance factors, or just because you want to?

Some thoughts from today’s go round with the M6 driver. Grabbed the 10.5 head and installed my KK Silv set it 1 notch higher.

 

Not sure where the first ball made contact, but it was loud. Was concerned at first, but I didn’t hear that again thankfully. The rest of the shots had a solid thud to them. Really pleasing. Forgiveness seemed good.

 

Down side...swing was garbage for the most part. I did catch a few good ones and saw similar ball speeds as the Cobra from the other night, but the overall swing didn’t feel anywhere close. Gonna try again tomorrow.

It sits in between the M3 and M4 size wise. Some of the look might be due to angle of the pic.
