TM will say 365 more sleeps till we offer a real selection of good shafts. Smaller oems have them crushed in this field. It's sad.

 

As consumers we gotta stop getting excited at mediocre teaser pics and call out the BS. Offer some real deal elite shafts. Enough with the fancy paintjobs and marketing hype. Focus on what actually matters

Ever consider that they just dropped a ton of $$ into a completely new manufacturing process that requires them to test and adjust every head that goes out the door (a process that is sure to be costly both in terms of time and money), and that in order to maintain any kind of healthy margin they have needed to limit the selection of stock shafts to avoid a sticker price in the $600+ range?

 

Yep considered it. Can still offer better shaft selection. Cool point though

M5 Tour is posted on the web page as 1/18 pre order, and I have word that the release on that is in fact 2/1. I am hoping that info is correct!!

Guarantee you that's wrong regarding one shaft without an upcharge (likely one stock shaft offering for the model). Either way, if you're in the market for an M6 D-Type you've likely got much bigger fish to fry to fix your golf game than which driver shaft you're playing.

Yes, I was wrong and I also admitted that in a previous post, all good on the shaft options for the M6 D-Type.

 

Hells yeah I have a ton of work to do on my swing, still got 6 strokes to fix from my game before I'll be a scratch player, still a lot left to learn.. Would hope to have more time to practice, but life wont allow that so in the meantime, I'll use the gear that works best for me. My ego allows it. Would recommend you let others game what they like and focus on your own game, we here talking about equipment, not swings :)

 

 

Anyway, I think hedgehog will go with a Ping SFT because he cannot look at the M6 anymore

I'll just close my eyes ever time I remove the head cover :D I actually did game a G400 SFT last summer, best driver I have ever owned, shot an even par round on my golf course and also won our hcp stroke play cup.

 

And truth be told, would probably game a driver with a poop emoji on the bottom if it outperformed the others. :D

The other option I go with is to get the club through a component only dealer usually works out cheaper and they’ll also custom build it to the swingweight you want.

Does anyone have the details on this? I think I saw that the "twist" on the M5/M6 drivers is now 1 degree - is that right? If so, what was it on the M3/M4 (guessing 2 degrees based on the above)?

 

I haven't tested this, but the "twist" is actually the one thing that scares me on these clubs. I don't fight a toe hook as much as I fight a "toe right" shot. In theory, twist face would make that worse so I'm hoping it's been reduced.

Was talking to my fitter today and he got to hit these last week. We didn’t talk about m6 but for the m5 he said the ball speed is there and better than m3.

The m3 and m4 were 1.5 degrees

 

I do not believe this is accurate. To the best of my knowledge, Twist Face on the M3/M4 was 0.5 degree open on the toe with a 1 degree more loft, and 0.5 degree closed on the heel with 1 degree less loft. So open/closed was effective a 1 degree change. We were not informed of any changes to Twist Face in the M5/M6.

The only reason I got to hit the M5 is because I happen to be doing some testing at a golf shop when the rep came in.

I was fitted for a accra FX 2.0 360 M5 ( low spin, low launch shaft) in an M3 head. I was wondering what options I would have for the M5 and which would be most similar to the accra?
