So i finally made my way to GG today. With no help at all from the staff. I went excited to hit the 919 forged and 760.

I’ll start my review by saying. I played 3 rounds this year. And previous year was about 50. Wife and I had a baby and needless to say it’s been a long time since I swung a club.

I warmed up with the 919 forged. I use a Nippon 105 s shaft now in my tm 770. The mizuno felt good. Shots were kinda all over in the beginning as i was warming up. But i started getting warm and was hitting it approx 165-175 with the 7 iron. Swing speed around 84-88. It felt good. The club. Kinda felt closed at address. I been hearing it’s a wider club. But i didn’t feel that way when i was hitting it. Could i bag. Yes. It’s beautiful.

The Tm. I took all of 3 shots. I was warm already. I didn’t have my same shaft. So i used a dg s 300 stiff. First ball felt like butter. It actually felt so good i almost stopped right there. Down the pipe straight and 176 yards. The other 2 followed the same way. Again i hit both good. Once i was warmed up. Could i put them in the bag. Yes but i would need to do some more testing. I also feel like I’m in a place where my swing isn’t too thrilling right now. But the 760 is 100% much better in person.

I was the same way. I was hitting a few different heads then we put the 760 in with a modus 120x. Took one hit and went yepppppppp, this is money. After maybe 3 hits I knew nothing could top the feel or ball speed.

I hit the 919 Forged the Z785's head as well. Neither felt as soft or but were both still very good. I will say... both other heads were super forgiving and gorgeous looking, but the 760's are probably the nicest feeling club I've ever struck. Size is nice and miss hits didn't seem to suffer at all.

My 760 6i is only about 4-6 yards shorter than the P790, too...Basically purely distance loss from loft. I think you'll see some 760 3 and 4i on tour this season.

I tried the p760 against the jpx919t. Have to say it's a hard choice but I didn't see much difference in dispersion. The only thing separating them was the feel.

My misses are typically thin. When hitting the p760 it felt ok thin, much less punishing feel wise. But to the point I wasn't sure when I'd pure it. Thin to centered strikes felt similar to me. With the 919t nothing felt better when struck in the center. Just more enjoyable to hit to me.

I'm looking at these currently, have hit both the 919 forged and the p760. going p760 at the minute but I would love to try the Srixon, you think Srixon is more forgiving than p760?

unfortunately I have no where near me to try the z785

Well... I'll just say that the 785 probably isn't any more forgiving than the 760. I was actually a bit better with dispersion left to right with the 785's but front to back dispersion was better with 760's and that's what I'm really after. Left right stuff is almost purely my swing fault, but front to back is a little bit more of the club.

I hit the 6i and it was very easy for me and I'm still a 14HC. A 3 or 4i.... yeah I'm not as sure I would game those.

I plan to get 6-PW and keep my 790's in the 4i and 5i but weaken those two a degree or so to help keep gaps consistent.

If you’re that worried do a mixed set. I game 790 3,4 and 770 5-pw. Im probably gonna pick these up 8-Pw. I game 3 wedges (51, 55, 60) so I use my 3 iron has a driving iron.

Thats whats intruiging about this set is that it plays like a combo set, having more cavity/foam as the iron lofts decrease. Should be no need to worry about long irons or combo it.

I went and tested the 760’s at my local golf store. I was hitting the 7 iron with a PX 6.5 shaft and when I was hitting it you couldn’t really tell the difference in hitting the sweet spot and not hitting it unless you were way out on the toe. Thats my normal miss. The sound was kind of dull and the club just didn’t feel the same way it does when I pure my gamer 7 iron. The lofts on these were stronger than my current gamers(vapor pro) by 2 degrees I believe on the 7 iron. I wasn’t getting much more distance out of the club except for roll out distance was more on the monitor. But here in Washington this time of year roll doesn’t give you anything so that’s null. I carried my gamer 4 yards further than the 760 on average. I liked the setup of the 760 behind the ball. It was similar to what I currently play and it’s always good to have that thin top line and a smaller head behind the ball. The 790 was just too much behind the ball for me. The club itself sets up nice and looks good behind the ball and I think the combo set that they have going will be good for sure. I think it’s going to help a lot of people who don’t realize they need it but also help others to build confidence by having the split set. Plus having the split set already done for you is what a lot of people are looking for.

I thought the 7 iron felt clicky and hard compared to mizunos (919t, mp 18 sc, mp 18). I hit about 10 balls with it and gave up (dgx100). The long irons have a ton of offset as well. I think the p750 was a far superior club in every way.

Not gonna lie guys, these 760’s are really growing on me, my 785/585’s are definitely in the hot seat. The only reason I haven’t switched yet is because I just hit the new Cobra Forged Black CB/MB set and absolutely fell in love with them as well. So now I’m torn, going to run up to Carl’s tomorrow and compare all 3 again, it will be hard to give my Srixon’s away just because they’re so damn good but the 760’s feel amazing especially on off center hits and the Cobra’s are literally the best feeling irons I’ve ever hit in my life (fwiw I’m a Mizuno fanboy) and these Cobra’s make the MP18’s feel like big box clubs.

that's exactly why I'm eyeing this set right now..... it's like a "players" combo set. I just hope my local pgass has some demo shafts that I'd be interested in.

I have to admit, the 760 look and feel very nice and are extremely forgiving for their size. They definitely look much better in person.

There were a few hits I had where I absolutely toed the strike, and I still got about 85% of my normal carry, it was crazy... That's shovel like forgiveness.

Soon as I sell my 790's I'll be ordering 4-PW.

I hit them yesterday and although they felt good, nothing about them stood out as being better than a 919 Tour, Srixon 7 Series, Titleist 718 CB or Wilson Staff V6. The 7-iron distance was 9 yards shorter than my Rogue Pros and the launch angle 2* higher which was expected due to the loft differences.

They will sell in very limited quantities just like the other TM forgings, the 790 excepted.

I wouldn't say good, just not as garish as they do in the promo photos. They are more subdued in person. Besides, you aren't hitting the ball with the back of the club! The address position looked nice, and I'd bag a set if I was in the market and they preformed for me. I just can't justify the price of these.

That's why I'm waiting for some remorse sellers here on BST or eBay over the coming months. It's the off season anyway and all I need is a 7i a few wedges and a 3w for the simulator. I'm right there with you on price... but I got my P790's barely used from a member here for a really good price. Same thing will happen again, I'd almost guarantee it.

I went and bought a set of the P760's after much deliberation! Couldn't wait on Callaway anymore lol.

Having played 3 rounds so far with them I am suitably impressed. Short irons feel really good and the long irons offer some good assistance on off centre hits.

I don't think the offset is as bad as some are making out. So far so good.
