Colorado WRX 2019

*I need to take lessons and get fit for a putter that works best for me. Not sure who is a great putting teacher locally though............

I think seven dewey had a putter fitting with Jerry Walters at Meridian Golf Club. Jerry also does lessons and clinics.

Thanks for the link. Will look on setting up a time and getting current gamer set right for me.... if its the right one that is.

Edit: Has anyone done the SAM putting lab? I hear it helps understand your natural stroke and what works best, just dont know anyone that has tried it.

Club Champion uses it and I did when I got fitted there last year. I think I posted my pics of the results in the 2018 thread. Here they are again though.

This morning's snow has put a damper on my weekend plans but the melt should be on the rest of the week. Any predictions as to whether any courses will be open Friday or Saturday (in Denver)?

We didnt get any in Greeley. Whats leftover from last week should be all gone by tomorrow. I was shocked Saturday to see how much snow was on the ground at my sons house in Highlands Ranch.

Same here in Loveland; it's like we had a dome around us. Definitely looks like the courses up here will be open this weekend since the weather is supposed to be nice the rest of the week. I'm probably gonna get out Friday and/or Saturday if anyone wants to join.

Keep me in the loop.

Ill let you carry my bag too so you can get some practice! (Im a good guy that way)

Ahh man, what a guy! You’re too kind!

I’ll definitely keep you posted; sounds like our neck of the woods is just about the only place that didn’t get any of that white stuff.

That’s me, I’m a giver! At least you’d get to carry the Black Cobras!

Looks like four or five days of decent weather coming.

Mmm. I like beer.

I think we stopped in there once after a Friday round at Family Sports, but we had a small group that night.

I remember now. It was you, your wife, myself, and hardrain. Good times.

How often do you see eyebrow raising scores in those things?

I know that when there is money on the line it's going bring out the worst in some people, but I'll never understand the blatant sandbagging that goes on in some leagues. I personally want to get my index as low as I can even if I never win another event. The good thing about my men's club is that even a hack like me can occasionally challenge in gross. We have a few sticks but even they have a bad day from time time.

Everything on the GolfWeek Am Tour is gross score, so you really can't sandbag without outright lying about what score you have on a given hole. Handicap indexes are only used to place you in a flight. And it's not using the official GHIN index, it's an index specifically for the league.

Championship flight winner comes in around the low 70's.

A Flight winner is usually mid-high 70's.

B Flight winner is usually high 70's/low 80's.

If you score way out of your flight, you'll get moved. So it's a pretty honest system.

Looks like four or five days of decent weather coming.

If it’s playable up north by Friday/Saturday I’d love to get out

I hit balls today. It was pretty chilly, but the next few days all should be pretty good.

I’m definitely trying to play Friday if you guys wanna try to get something together...?

As of right now Friday works for me.

Only course I’ve ever played in Colorado that’s north of Erie is Marianna Butte so I’ll let you guys make the call.

I'll go dealer's choice too. Twin Peaks in Longmont is the only place I've played up that way.

I think you guys would be pleasantly surprised at Highland Meadows. Fun course.

Agreed. It’s probably my favorite north of Denver metro.

Teeoff has a 1240 that’d be like ~$26 each...I can call on my lunch break to see if they’ve got anything earlier. Their website says they don’t, but I think it lies sometimes.

Thanks Boiler! I’m assuming they’re still cart path only?

Sure thing. Wish I could join you guys, but heading to the mountains for skiing.

You all suck for going golfing and skiing. I have to finish painting the 15-foot wall in my bedroom.

Hopefully we're in for a warm spell. My $179 room at the Broadmoor will feel a lot more worth it if I can play a little golf next weekend.
