Rory’s look almost exactly like the 730. Tiger’s don’t have the milled channel on the back, and his have a more squared off heel going to the hosel. He also likes a longer blade length than normal and I think a more rounded top line in the short irons. I know his grooves are a little bit different and he likes a different type of metal. Besides not having the milled channel, it’s lots of little things that Tiger’s said over the years that most people won’t notice just looking at them.

Based on what we saw in the MAMG video, there is a milled channel on the TWs, but it's smaller than the one on the 730. It looks more cosmetic and something intended to give the TWs the same design aesthetic as the 730.

Sorry if its been asked but do you think these will be off a 50* PW ?

Would it be outrageous to suggest that they might have a "Tiger Spec" that has a 50* PW and a "regular spec" that would have a 47* PW?

Extremely unlikely. That would essentially require producing different heads in every head where there is a 3 or more degrees of difference needed. No manufacturer is going to simply bend a club 3 degrees strong or weak to accomplish what you are suggesting.

 

Bounce and offset change far too significantly when bending that much. Going more than 2 degrees in either direction is not an acceptable OEM practice.

 

I personally bend all my Hogan PTx 2 degrees weak on purpose to decrease offset and increase bounce. It is VERY noticeable. 3 would be extreme.

I doubt we will see these in TW specs if released. The only way I see TM doing that is if they are a LE set release.

Ping does. And it works great. Just saying. You can bend them to 50 and not worry about “ crazy bounce “. It’s not a huge deal. It would be noticeable. But in a good way.
