I reckon the field ain't got nothin' on Tiger come Sunday.

- Granny Hawkins

"I say that big talk's worth doodley squat"!

Tiger's neck injury:

Tiger: "Operator, can you patch me through to Granny Hawkins?

Operator: "One moment please.

Granny: "Hey ya, you got Granny Hawkins."

Tiger: "Granny, I hurt my neck."

Granny: "you mix up some mustard root with goat milk and rub that on the neck and you be better in no time."

Tiger: "thanks, granny.

Granny: "Go get em, and you stay away from people you see"

Oh Spieth will be looking toward the Masters alright. Probably to look for his ball after finding the water again all the way from Jville.

I kid I kid I kid.

run of the mill driver with stock shaft
a couple of outdated hybrids
shovel-ier shovels
wedges from same shovel company
some putter with a dead insert and
a hideous grip

I was listening to Breed on the way in today and I am sure this was mentioned on this forum somewhere. But after listening to him, Tiger and JT yesterday at their conferences...hindsight makes sense but I never put it together how much shorter a course will play when it isn't dried up and balls running out. JT said on 18 he used to go iron-wedge into the green and he went driver-5iron into green during his 9 hole round yesterday.

Seeing players hit some big irons into the greens will be a nice change up from the last few weeks, especially WGC. Bombing it 350 and leaving a sand wedge in.

Hopefully we're in for a nice ball-striking weekend.

That will be fun to see. Maybe it will play a bit like Riveria. I like seeing some long irons into par fours, and risky second shots into par fives with fairway woods.

Ain't nuttin' like some good ole Granny Hawkins talk on the eve of the alleged "5th" major.

She helps keep things in perspective. I think it’s the corncob pipe.

Granny Hawkins is the embodiment of a sturdy woman.

A rare thing these days.

I could just imagine her reaction to seeing Michael Greller for the first time.

"Chin whiskers ain't meant to be pretty." "Is that your boy with the H on his shirt?"

Lets say you were goin to fly down to da Players for the weekend?

What airport do you fly into?

jax or orlando

Any good recommendation on where to stay?

lots of hotels in jax

Best way to get tickets?

the internet

And any other tips on generally getting around?

a car

If TW is doing well in Friday, thinking of makin the trip.

HELL YES

Any help appreciated ; )

Jax=jacksonville

Definitely Jax. It has be be at least a 2 hour drive from Orlando. Daytona Beach has an airport but it is an hour away and only gets ~10 or so flights per day.

Could be a great time for Spieth to find his mojo and look towards the Masters................ :swoon2:

Don't count on it - his record at the Players isn't anything to write home about.

Yeah, as Ferguson stated....."Don't think so"..........but heck, I even buy a lottery ticket every now and then.........you just never know...... :beach:

Yeah because that's how the rest of us have to play!

Spieth doesn't hit it straight enough for this joint. Maybe Augusta, but not TPC Sawgrass.

If you look at the past champions, there are quite a bit of straight shooters who had a great putting week.

He has the yips bad! he could hit every fairway this week and will still not be relevant.
