Callaway Jaws MD5 - Raw Finish?!

Anyone ever able to order these? I picked up a tour issue 58 degree a few months back and need to grab a 50 and 54 raw. My guy at Club Champion says they are not available yet. Any info would be appreciated.

Yes, it's an extra SKU item that requires extra handling and counting once it is made. The raw wedge crowd is like the vegans: Wedge faddists vs. food faddists, who like to self-delude themselves that they're smarter than everyone else. If you must have raw, get the regular wedges and brutalize the factory finish.

Any update on when these are going to be available? I'm sure the current state of the world is going to impact but would love to know what was originally planned.

I was curious on this also. I called Callaway customer service last week and they said Callaway was supposed to roll these out March 17 but got delayed because of Covid-19. They didn’t know when the new date would be. I hope it’s soon as I want to get these ordered!!

No, it is the tour issue RAW finish. Retail versions should release later this year.

I got a set of MD5 Raw wedges yesterday. I was able to call customer service and place a special order through the training program they offer people that work in the golf industry. I've heard they may be special order only for now since not many people get them anyways. Also, retail stores wont carry them since its such a niche market. If you want MD5 Raw I would suggest contacting a golf store or course that has a Callaway account to see if they can place a special order for you.

MD5 raw are available on the Cally website, and have a T grind that was popularized in the MD 2. Love my MD4 raw, but I would luv the T grind in a 60 *.

Does anyone know how closely the callaway T grind resembles the vokey T grind?

The Bounce on the MD 5 is 8*, while the Vokey is closer to 4* in the 60. Overall shaping is pretty similar. MD 5 is quite similar to the MD2 T grind, slightly less bounce.

So I ended up ordering a 56S and 60X raw with the $-taper to replace my 56 and 60 MD4 raws that were getting pretty chewed up. my 52 is still pretty sharp and I realy dont need a ton of spin with that club anyway. I think I'll try to save the life on these as much as possible and practice with the MD4's and play all my rounds with the MD5's. Has anyone ordered and received theirs yet? I havent been this excited for a club order in a while.
