Me too!

BUT . . . . . I'm sure someone presented it to Tiger in a bulletin board type of way and that's how he approached it. Reading the comments of Ancer before and listening to him after it was clear all he meant was how much it would mean to be playing against Tiger for a lot of reasons. I thought it was pretty normal and refreshing.

Sure would be nice if Tiger figured out the reality of it and reached out to him, would probably mean the world to Ancer.

As with most of his generation, Tiger is a hero for Ancer, so he said he would like to play him. He didn't big it up, he just answered honestly. We have a market, you like Woods response, me not so much*.

*I don't know Tiger's sense of humour and didn't see the interview so he may have said it tongue in cheek.

I'm going to start doing that whether the putt goes in or not. I used to bowl leagues and there was a guy that was a pretty good bowler, but a bit mentally challenged. He rarely talked and had lifts on his shoes. If he thought he threw a good shot, he'd turn around and strut his way back to the seats as soon as he let go. Most of the time it was a strike, but it was funny to see his face when he turned around and one was still standing.

Yeah, Tiger's hyper-competitive. That's what I found funny. I do, finally, think Tiger's probably the GOAT. I have heard at least one similar story where a competitor was talking smack about Tiger and when Tiger finally competed against him Tiger whispered something on the first tee along the lines of, "You wanted me? No you got me"...and proceeded to bury the guy. I can appreciate that, actually. Reminds me of when I was a running back. If defenses got cocky (which only happens when they're mistaken) I'd point at a guy on the other side of the lineup and say "I'm coming right through you" before the snap...

Scoreboard, Bro. America: 27*-14-2, the rest: 14-27*-2. *The extra win for America, and the extra loss for the rest, is the result of the ultimate match between America and Britain that ended in 1783 (or, 1784 if you go by the date of the ratification of the Treaty of Paris).

Lol, you send love from Europe but.....all your players live in Florida ; )

Here, even this UK site underlines how the rivalry has changed given all the players are basically neighbors in the US.....

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/golf/ryder-cup-rory-mcilroy-team-us-europe-ian-poulter-phil-mickelson-jonathan-liew-a8556486.html

The truth, however, is that like good manners, air travel and fish and chips, Ryder Cup beef is really just a pale imitation of what it used to be. Globalisation and the jetset have turned what used to be a genuine and fascinating clash of cultures into a sort of fetishised enmity, one in which its multi-millionaire participants have far more in common than they would probably care to admit. By and large, the Europeans and Americans now all play on the same tour, live in the same gated communities, enjoy broadly the same life experiences. Even the accents are pretty similar these days.

McIlroy and Rickie Fowler duking it out in front of a partisan crowd, you’re aware on some basic level that this is a purely sporting tussle, that in a few days’ time they’ll be back in Jupiter, Florida, knocking back green teas and having a good old chuckle about it all.

Once upon a time, though, the enmity was real. Long before the War on the Shore at Kiawah Island in 1991, Ryder Cups had the feel of a frontier battleground, one where the usual laws of decorum and good faith seemed not to apply. “We wanted to beat the British in the worst way,” said Gene Sarazen of the early competitions. “They looked upon us Americans as no more than a bunch of caddies.”

LOL!.... Wow, you guys are sore winners...these exhibitions was just that when the US was winning. The Ryder Cup did not start ten years ago as some Euros think. The US won twenty out of the first twenty-two.

By the way didn't the US win that exhibition in 2016? Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup are great putting contests.
