I'm going to stick with the callaway hawkeyes, they are way better and like DXD stated they are probably the best for my game. I just gotta stay away from the 4 iron it's like a 5 iron distance but lower. Maybe 5 more yards tops.....

Right that was established I think in page 2.

You were sticking with the Hawkeyes and were going to go get a refund due to the swingweight and/or total weight being different in your set than the demo you hit.

So now since you won’t play the MFs, your options are:

Eat the $390 you spent and put em in the trash or donateRecoup some/all of your money via a return and refund due to the clubs being defective (due to different swing weight/total weight) Why everyone believes this to be a troll thread is because we’ve said for a long time these are your options. Most people would feel scammed and attempt to recoup their money, but you’ve simply refused to listen and heed the advice. In fact, you even suggested getting different clubs from them.

So Paddy, we’re now at a crossroads in this thread. Time for the big reveal, pal. How will you proceed?

I doubt it. As it seems Paddy has offered to pay more money for, drumroll please, another set of MF irons that he likes the looks of better. Still an unknown brand with zero resale value? Check. Still a cheap graphite shaft that nobody has ever heard of and isn't recognized by the company that supposedly makes them? Check. Hitting the MF driver "great" but a round recap showed no fairways hit and at least 1 OB ball yet saying the driver is perfect? Check. No following through on the desire to get any sort of money back in person? Check.

We have a recipe for MF coming out no worse for the wear on this, and potentially it seems, actually getting more money from Paddy out of this whole ordeal!!!

I was looking at mitigating the damage, but after today there is no way I am doing anything with their clubs. Driver is fine, Wedges cool, irons stink.... HEAVY

After today and this round no way I am going back I REALLY like these Hawkeyes. Forgiving and have a little accuracy to them.

As painful as this has been you all have been really cool pals. I appreciate all the support I’m going to follow up I promise. I honestly bit on the concept that the big name manufactures mark there crap up solely for the marketing.

here is the tricky part....

some of the stuff plays. Not saying it’s great but it plays. Other components are trash or at least for me they are……………

Yeah no doubt it’s marked up. They have a lot of R&D costs and the market is willing to pay. Same as any almost any other product you buy.

In terms of the components though (like you bought), it’s more like robbery. There’s zero R&D as they are copies - that nut has already been spent by the major manufacturers. So not only are they forgeries, they’re forgeries of 15 year old tech.

Here’s the worst part - the markup of the MF clubs you paid is several times more than the markup of TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, etc. Those MF heads no joke probably cost $2 each to produce, and the shafts I’ll bet cost them the same and they had them painted. Throw in some glue, grip, and assembly time, and the cost of each of your MF irons may be $5. For a 5-P set, that’s $30 total and they sold to you for 13x that ($390). There is no way in hell that the big manufacturers are selling at 13x cost.

So your new buddies over at MF are the real price gougers if you think about it. Nothing against that - it’s their right to make a profit that way if they choose, but it’s our right here equally to call it out for what it is - junk and extremely poor value for your money.

The major manufacturers make quality equipment. To avoid the big markup, buy used...couple years old is all it takes. Really, any GI club should work fine for you. I’d say go with length and lie from your fitting, but there isn’t much credibility there. If you are in the ball park of average height/arm length, then standard length/lie should get the job done for now. Some will disagree with my previous statement.

Used 7-irons from eBay is a cheap way to try different models of clubs.

( edit )

It does seem like your handicap should be much higher. The 50 9-hole score made it go up?

That’s the whole idea here. If you went through your story from the beginning and told us you took a chance on the MF irons and they set you back $100, everyone on here would just tell you to either play them and work on your swing or else ditch them and go to the Hawkeyes because you get what you pay for. But because you told us you spent almost $400 on them, everyone here saw it as outrageous and rightfully so. That’s why everyone’s telling you to get your money back.

This was my point when I posted. You just insult anyone you don’t agree with. I know plenty of people that use shovels off single figures. Hell, one friend at university was off scratch with ping G10s..

You’ve had loads of chances to go in and talk to them paddy. Nobody likes confrontation but the fact you repeatedly say you’ll go in then another excuse appears suggests to me you’re either loaded and don’t care about the money you’ve been easily parted from or this is all just trolling people. I’m off 12 and played to 6 round Royal Lytham recently, so shooting 50 on a front nine anywhere does not say you’re a 20 handicapper I’m afraid. As you’ve clearly put elsewhere, you’re trying to break 100 which is a 30 handicap.

if you really don’t want to confront them get to the range with all the good clubs you own from major OEMs (and you have a few from the pictures) and work on your swing and digging the dirt to groove a swing. When trying to break 100 you’re just wasting money getting fit as your swing will be wildly different day to day. Spend the money on range balls and lessons and practice your short game lots too as this is an area you can easily pick up strokes just by putting on your carpet or chipping in your back yard into an upturned umbrella.

@Viktoryred3
I'm not getting them I'm sticking with the Hawkeyes. No more Masterfit, they didn't call me back. I'm not going to give them another penny. @dxdgenert had it right the whole time. @nsxguy engaged in combative behavior first in another thread and that's what started that....... Other posters agreed but I shouldn't of made the comments and took the high road.
See post #11https://forums.golfwrx.com/discussion/1806346/who-wins-the-5-majors-this-year/p1
"WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM A 30 HDCP!" That was why I retaliated due to my insecurity of my HDCP. I was told by a senior member that if you play by yourself you shouldn't keep your score so a lot of those 100+ came alone so I wasn't saving them in my SWINGU handicap app. Only when I play with another person.
With that said I apologize for the comments @nsxguy
I just can't believe I bought those damn irons in the first place, it was so stupid..... In a way I like the ribbing from you all I deserve it, what a stupid buy.....
Keep in mind... I was out of the game for 8 year prior to 2019. So I wasn't following new equipment etc.... Just some context I think that gets lost . AND this is the most serious I have taken golf. I've never been a very good golfer, just like the game enough to get out there on nice days and play. NOW I am actually trying to improve PARTS of my game and that's why I think I fell for the purchase. I took some lessons in the past and would putt from time to time or hit the range, but now I an ACTUALLY putting a plan in place to work on my driver and wedges (pitching and chipping) exclusively.

Hawk Eye VFT SpecsThis is pretty interesting. Look at the swing weights on the graphites, C8.

The swing weight on the MF are D2.

This is interesting, thanks to whoever turned me onto swing weight, this is interesting. Proper Swing WeightI feel the C8 is a good swing weight for my game. D2 makes me tired playing 18. And I hit it fat A LOT.

Though SW is important, it is not so important for the average golfer and I would bet you would not understand the difference between C8 and D2. We are talking about few grams not tens of grams.

Moreover let’s say that you hit a couple of irons a hole, you would hit 36 iron shots a round. Don’t think it would drain your energies. And wedges are usually that SW or more.

Man, stop thinkering and play more. Knowledge is very good, but just in front of a beer, unless you tried a lot of different head, shaft and grip combinations to become knowledgeable of what works for you. Besides, at our level it is not even important because we will change our swing hundred times.

Enjoy the game, which is already hard enough without even thinking about shafts, swing weights and the like
