How many of you are using the mevo+ with pro package on short indoor mode?

I have a flightscope X2 and find the mevo+ to be better and more accurate than the X2 in short indoor with less misreads. With the X2 it gave me all the additional parameters that pro package gives with mevo+ but I always felt that the club data was off with the X2 so reluctant to spend the additional for pro package to find it’s the same.

the better accuracy of the mevo+ makes me hopeful that it will be better than the x2 but just not confident of spending the additional money to find it’s been an expensive mistake.

the x2 I found read path wrong and on occasions was wildly out. I even bought one of the mats that show your ground interaction in the grain of the fabric to confirm. It would read massively out to in with left path when the mat showed I was in to out with the path. Everything else read ok with it.

im thinking about getting the pro package to use with stack for over the winter to get swing training but if it’s no good for club data I might just use either a cheaper radar or bring the x2 back out for speed training.

Pro package is a game changer. When the unit is properly aligned the data is incredibly accurate and consistent. It also immediately improved the ball flight accuracy when I upgraded (even though it's not supposed to). I can't explain it but the unit was fade biased before the upgrade and while I could hit pull draws it would never show a push draw. After the upgrade I can hit any shot without issues and there is no bias.

I bought a right angle ruler to help with alignment. Using the print out that comes with the unit, alignment is now a breeze.

The printout sayd the middle of the mevo+ to the ball is 6 inches left of center. Put the right angle ruler down. Align the mevo to it. The line that runs up yhe right angle ruler will run through the ball and into the target you set in front of your net. I use a 1/2" pvc pipe to confirm alignment. I then stick an alignment stick through the pvc, into the ground. Pull the pvc pipe up and you have your target line.

I

Using that method, I hit a shot that nailed the alignment stick. I looked at the fs golf app and path was 0.0L and face to path was .1R

I'd say that's accurate!

Anyone seen the update today that the stack app links with mevo+ and auto updates the app with swing speed. Pretty nice little integration that.

Sounds very cool!

I assume that you need 2 iOS devices (one to run The Stack app and one to run the FS Golf app), which are linked via Bluetooth?

TaylorMade Stealth 2 12° - Ventus Velo Blue 5R2

PING G425 Max 5-Wood (@16.5°) / 7-Wood (@19.5°) - Ventus Velo Red 5R2

Callaway Paradym Super Hybrid 21° / 24° - AD HY 65R

Mizuno MP245 6-GW - AD 75R SSx1

TaylorMade MG4 52.08 - AD 75S (8i) / 56.12TW - AD 75S (9i)

No all done through the stack app on one device. Connects to the mevo+ Wi-Fi and the mevo sends the data to the app just like it would with the flightscope app or E6.

Thank you!

So your Mevo+ is 6in offset to the right of the ball but the targeting line is directly on the ball?

The middle of the mevo+ is 6 inches to the right of the ball. The line to the target runs through the ball. Get a right angle ruler. Makes alignment a breeze. See my post above.

I know you said earlier on you were having some trouble getting aligned. With this setup you have definitely done the best job possible. Matches the FS instructions to a tee.

That said I’m actually wondering if it is overkill? Provided you are setting up parallel to the alignment line as given by the camera and hitting a ball within the allowable radius (4” radius in app listed) the data provided by this setup vs your setup should be identical. Have you noticed otherwise?

Yeah. The biggest issue was getting the device square to the target line. Yhe guys at flightscope even told me that the readings would be off if the device wasn't square.

The peace of mind knowing it's dead on accurate is worth every penny of the $8 the right angle ruler cost me.

I also have to setup the unit every time I hit. Now, setup is literally 5 minutes.

I am using the pro package in short indoor mode.  I have my net setup outside, 8 feet from Mevo + to the hitting area, and 10.5 feet to net.  As far as the data provided by the pro package it is extremely helpful and accurate.  My ball flight is consistent to what I see on the course and the club path is in line to the shot shape.

I just went to a golf lesson that used Trackman and all the club data provided was almost dead on to the Mevo + (club path in degrees, etc).  I am extremely happy with the pro package.

Properly set up with a good environment, it's a phenomenal device for the price.

Been wondering if the flightscope ball flight algorithm is a bit outdated as ball physics/aerodynamics improve? As an example I took the PGA tour average data for a PW and entered it into the optimizer:

- PGA averages: ball speed 102 mph, launch angle 24.2, spin 9300 shows a carry of 136 yards.
- FS optimizer with same data spits out 126 yards of carry.

From my session tonight with PW ball speed of 98mph, launch of 26.5 and spin of 7739 shows a carry of 122 yards. On course I would expect that shot to carry Apprx 130 yards.

I think the data is good although spin is likely a tad low … but hitting off a mat does take spin off so doesn’t seem unreasonable. Again makes my think the algorithm itself is underrepresenting carry by 5-10 yards. (?)

It doesn’t even give the option to use the app without downloading the firmware, as soon as I opened the app it came up with these two screens.

I usually like to wait a week before downloading updates to see if there have been issues with the update but no opportunity to do that with this.

There is an app update coming to accompany the firmware update. Hopefully the two can play nice together until the app gets its update.

Looks like the skills app isn’t playing.

I updated the fs range app and then the mevo+ then played a few challenges on PinSeeker on E6, did a short speed session on fs range and decided to finish off with some wedges on skills but it’s not going past this screen.

I closed the app and went back into range to make sure the mevo was still working which it is. Looks like it’s the skills app that is not happy at all.

I have closed the app and disconnected from the mevo and connected to the home Wi-Fi and it’s still just on the downloading screen when I open it back up. Can’t do anything with it.

Panic over. Just needed some time on Wi-Fi to sort itself out and is now working as normal. I have noticed a few more no reads than usual tonight though.

Had my own frustration moment yesterday. 1st session after the firmware update. Everything went great getting it setup.

"Ready"

Then, no read, no read, no read...I check the device. Switch to wifi. Wait a few minutes. Switch back.

No read, no read.

The radar setup settings didn't change...except for 1 setting. Firmware left distance between device and ball the same. It left ball height the same.

But it changed it from indoor to outdoor mode. Changed it to indoor and was off and running again.

That’s good to know, I never actually thought to check that and have been getting more no reads than usual. I’ll check that later on.

This almost always happens after a firmware update. Best to check hitting mode every time you connect.

If there's ever club data but no ball data, change hitting mode.

Yeah, that was the first firmware update for me. Good thing I had the same issue the very 1st time I set it up to use it.

Anyone having issues with IOS 16.x? I picked up a newer iPad a few weeks back and I think it updated itself (I always turn auto updates off, but its on by default and well I think it bit me).

Now FS Golf will not connect to the Mevo+...its on the wifi an see the IP. If I try to reset wifi and use the QR its reads it and then crashes.

Waiting impatiently for the app update now 🙂 My iphone is on 15.x and works just fine. I have RCT balls so will be interesting if I get less double spin reads or not. I'm not too picky in short indoor mode, its doing a decent job in a difficult condition.
