I think whoever takes Fromm will be pretty happy with the value. I watched a lot of college this year, they lost some receivers at Georgia and his numbers were a bit down. But i just look at him there holding off Justin Fields and Jacob Eason, it just seems like everyone wants to play with him. A lot of praise for his intelligence and decision making etc...

If i was an AFC east team i'd roll my eyes a bit if the Pats took him. For some reason i feel like if they do it he'll end up as Drew Brees 2.0 or something

I like Josh Allen, hes got flaws. But for some reason I think he'll win games there. Plus hes got this lumberjack big guy vibe that is good for Buffalo. He seems like a buffalo guy

Allen is promising, and no doubt the Bills will stick with him.

 

But the alternative reality in which they go all-in with Rodgers is fun to think about. Lots of parallels with the Broncos and Peyton.

The Packers' decision to draft a quarterback in the first round is getting more scrutiny than the quarterback who made this plunge worth it to them in the first place. A strong argument could be made to select Aaron Rodgers' heir now, rather than waiting for Rodgers' retirement. But is Jordan Love the right quarterback for that? He led the NCAA with 17 interceptions during his final year at Utah State and, at the very least, is a high risk-reward prospect. The chances of a worst-case scenario -- starting the public clock on Rodgers' endgame with a first-round pick who isn't up to replacing him -- are higher than they should be.

While we're on the subject of the Packers, it's worth noting that they are operating with the kind of long-term vision that many of us criticize other teams for ignoring. But is that approach compatible with maximizing the final years of Rodgers' career? It could be, but only if the right answer is to surround Rodgers with a strong running game rather than an enhanced set of pass-catchers. Despite one of the deepest wide receiver classes in memory, the Packers failed to add a single one. After Love, they took a power runner in Boston College's AJ Dillon and a tight end in Cincinnati's Josiah Deguara. No objective observer could say that the Packers helped Rodgers in the passing game during this draft. We'll see if it matters.and then for an opposite approach by a NFL team.

Compare the Packers' approach to that of the New Orleans Saints, who have been treating each of the past few years as if it could be the last for quarterback Drew Brees. They identify specific players they believe can help them right away and aren't shy about moving around to get them. On Saturday, the Saints traded all of their Day 3 picks -- a total of four in all -- to move back into the third round to draft Dayton tight end Adam Trautman. (They eventually traded back into the seventh round to select Mississippi State quarterback Tommy Stevens.) The Saints' approach has translated into 37 regular-season wins since 2017 with three consecutive trips to the playoffs. I don't know if it will put them any closer to a Super Bowl championship than the Packers, but the Saints offer an instructive alternative approach.

Think writers need to do research. Love had a great 2018. Then in 2019 he lost 9 starters on offense. Had very young inexperienced WR's and offense in general to work with, new HC and OC. That might be a great pic for them letting him sit for 3-4 years behind Rodgers. As I said above thought Pack should of gone with WR for Rodgers.

Would you want the 49ers to trade for him? Just curious where you'd stand on like 3 years of Rodgers vs Jimmy

I like the Bills, Rodgers would make them a contender but for some reason i really like Josh Allen. Like i'd be conflicted about that deal

I don't know, it's a tough call.... I like Jimmy a lot more as a fan, Rodgers is just very unlikable and I think teammates would likely feel the same. Jimmy choked in the 4th Q which cost the Super Bowl IMO. But he did a lot to help get the #1 seed, I don't know if Rodgers wins those same games. I think Jimmy will get better but when I see a clear choke job like that I just loose a lot of confidence. I hope Jimmy proves me wrong!

It's crazy because this season Jimmy actually cost more then Rodgers but after this season the Niners can get out of the Jimmy contact at no cost.

Depends on what assets I had to give up. I would be more confident with Rodgers because he has been there and done it. I also feel even at this age he has a higher ceiling in the short term. If you asked me before the Super Bowl I would not hesitate and say hell no.

Since he didn't play last year any incentives count as "not likely to be earned " so they don't count against this years cap, if he earns them they count against next years.

Wow, just wow. Mahomes signs a 10-year $450 mil deal, biggest deal every in pro sports (although NFL not fully guaranteed). That is one heck of a ballsy deal by the Chiefs in this day and age, will be interested to see the language in it to see what they really owe. Dak must be doing a happy dance and Jerry Jones ought to be crying.

If anyone deserves the contract though its Mahomes, his first two years as starter have been as good as anyone's. And at 24 with his cred, you knew this was going to be a massive contract.

His 2 years as starter he has a Mt Rushmore passing season , and won a SB in the other.

Hes the most valuable player in the league by a mile right now

He also had a great supporting cast for much of that. I'm not saying he's capable of being a great QB, but I'd like to see a bigger sample size.

I would actually say of the "rushmore" seasons of the modern era (2004 Manning, 2013 Manning, 2007 Brady, 2011 Rodgers, 2018 Mahomes etc....Probably forgetting some) he may have had one of the weaker supporting casts

Manning had Wayne/Harrison/Edgerrin James plus i think Dallas Clark. Then he had The Thomases in Denver with Wes Welker and Eric Decker. Tom Brady had Randy Moss in an FU season.

A lot of people think 2011 Rodgers is the GOAT season because of how awesome he was with his supporting cast

But i would say Mahomes skill guys ranked below the Manning and Brady years

Granted yes it's a couple of seasons, but he has been really good
