Personally would change the top end of the bag. 3W, 2H, 3H, 4iron for 5W, 7W, 4H. Loft is your friend. But, that is what I would use. Your game maybe diff., but looking at the irons you are gaming, more height on your shot probably won't hurt?!

I agree more height on flight could be helpful, been relient on 2 hyrbid for awhile instead of 3 wood but looking to bring It back.

Distance gaping is

3 wood +8 with nice high flight

2 hybrid +13 club I use often

3 hyrbid +9

4 iron - don't use often as have more confidence with a lower gripped hybrid

I’d be looking to get rid of the 2 hybrid and get the 3 hybrid lofted down ever so slightly and go that way.

Like the others, I was going to suggest looking at the top of the bag, the 2H and 3H in particular, and finding a good distance gapping there. I’m in exactly the same boat as you. I currently have a 3W, 2H and then 4i, but just ordered what is essentially a 3H to get a distance a little more in between the 3W and 4i. I’m grabbing a TS-3 hybrid in part because of the adjustable hosel so I can tweak the loft a little bit as needed. Good luck!

Everyone is different, I am relatively long and rarely find a need to have a ton of clubs at the top end of my bag. I play driver, 3 wood, 18 hybrid and 23 iron. I have more clubs at the bottom where I hit more shots and need to hit the ball closer. I moved to this after a pure statistical approach to charting my shots and scores.

3 wood - Looking to hit the Fairway or near a green. Hybrid, hitting fairway or just on or very lose to the green. 23* iron - fairway or just anywhere on the green. Next iron looking to hit a 1/2 of the green, and next iron a third of the green, next iron certain 1/4 of the green. and so on and so forth.

Having a 17, 20, 23, 26 degree gapping at the top end was a waste for me. I still only hit the green or near it with most of those clubs and my scoring was no better. I had a ton of times where I wanted more flexibility because a drive ran further and I had a 65-85 yard shot and needed some more loft since I really only play a couple of shots. Straight ball and a knock down cut, I needed more close birdie opportunities on the short end so I moved my gaps closer together on the bottom and farther apart (5*) where my goal was to just hit the green.

ditch the 3w or 2h whichever one you use less of and cant hit as good. If you have a slow swing speed you would get more distance with a hybrid vs wood. Just think about how you play the course that will decide what to drop. using it just off the Tee only? or 2nd shot as well on par 5?. on a par 5 if you can't reach on 2nd shot would it be better too lay up with 2full swing shots with an iron ?. This is why everyone answer would be different and some people like woods over snaphook hybrids

If it were me, that 4 iron would be sitting in a closet. You already said you don't have much confidence in it, so there you go. Bye-bye 4 iron.

I used to carry a similar setup on the top end of your bag, and I was stuck as well....I went 10.5*, 17* 4W and 21* 7W....never looked back!

My thoughts are similar to what's already been posted. You can probably remove one of the clubs in your (3W + 2H + 3H) group and not miss much.

The yardage gaps between them will determine which you can drop. Where is the lowest gap (I think its between the 2H and 3H). Then which of those 2 clubs do you use the least?

You might actually find you'd be better off ditching the 3W for a 4W, and then dropping the 2H. The yardage gaps from driver to 4W to 3H to 4i would be more constant.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

I'd get rid of the 2H and 4i.

Alternatively, I'd get rid of the 3W and 4i and keep the two hybrids.

I think you can drop both the 2hybrid and 4 iron, unless your 3hybrid and 4 iron have distinctly different flight paths that you'd like to keep in the bag.

TXG did a fantastic video showing the difference between a fairway wood, a hybrid and a driving iron all at the same loft. The total distances came out identical but the flights were totally different. Basically fairway flew the highest with the least roll out, hybrid middle with middle roll out and driving iron lowest with most roll out. That said I would take a look at your 3 wood and 2 hybrid and decide which ball flight you prefer because the total distance shouldn't be much different. If you want the highest flight go 3 wood, lower flight go hybrid. Otherwise as suggested before you can go 3 wood for normal days and 2 hybrid for windy days. The only other thing I would do is bend your 4-6 irons 1* weak which would give you a better gap from 3 hybrid to 4 iron.

Thanks for all the ideas, thinking I will drop the 2 hybrid as that probably suits gapping the best.

I like the idea of bringing the 2 hybrid in for the 3 wood on windy days or days where need a lower ball flight.

Not to be that guy, but without corresponding distances your bag looks sh*t.

10.5-15-18-22/23-27-31-35-39-43-47-51-55-59 would seem sort of ideal just from a loft-perspective.

I myself have 9/15/18/26/29/32/36/40/44/48/52/56/60 and yes a big gap from 18 to 26. Might change that 26º club to a 23-ish hybrid at some point.

Distances are about 260/240/220/188/175/163/148/137/126/115/105/95/85

Slapping the ball around a bit, having loads of fun.

Not sure you can call out others bags for looking like shit when your gapping leaves you with less than 10 yard differences within that 4* separation... Also, gapping at the top of the bag is about as useless as gapping at the bottom as they are both specialty areas.

My gap between my 5w and 4hy is about 20yds. But I'm ok with that at the top. Other then that im. Pretty happy with my gapping this season.
