Spraying foam into I500’s

So curious if anyone has tried to spray say fix a flat into ping i500’s. Would it act like “speed foam” in the p790’s would it change the sound? The feel? The swing weight? Surely someone has tried this craziness before

I take a mixture of fix a flat and liquid latex tubeless tire sealant and put it into my tubeless mountain bike tires. The problem is it dries up, and I have to add more. Same thing will happen to your i500s. It will dry up and turn into rubbery snot, then dry more till it gets plasticky.  Don’t do it. You will never be able to get it out. 
 

“Speed foam” has a rubbery consistency that stays rubbery

 

edit: also fix a flat shrinks in volume as it dries. You will have a rattle in your club head after a while

Silicone sealant might work, but id buy a single iron off eBay first.

I think Ping did an outstanding job with the look of the i500's but they kind of dropped the ball on the sound & feel. I often thought of buying a single iron & putting some form of rubbery silicone inside the head just as an experiment. Just never figured out exactly what would be the best substance to fill the head with.

I don’t own I500’s but have always thought if I did I would pack the head completely with of Poly-fill.  Could easily be removed if it didn’t work out.  Nothing permanent like silicon or foam of some sort.

Just wait for the i510.    Mine were filled with hotmelt and still clanked if not dead middled.   I feel like ping will nail the second gen when  it comes out.

Ping usually does a good job when it comes to listening to customer feedback. So I hope your right. Not sure how they can improve the looks though. They are close to perfect as is.

Fill one with water?  SW would be to high, but may be a fun experiment.

I wondered the same thing and contacted Ping via email; they dissuaded me saying it would affect the ball flight characteristics of the irons. Still, I’m thinking of using a window spray foam if for nothing else than to improve the sound.
