I agree... blades or small cb. Lets just say if i had a crowd finding my ball weather i push fade it right or one that just rolls into the rough but is magically gone somehow, id shave a bit of strokes off too.

Wait, so your big issue is that if you had a crowd to find your lost balls your score would go down?!  How many balls do you think a Tour pro is losing playing by himself at your home course?! (spoiler alert: its zero).

Also, "push fade" is "slice" around here.

His tee shot on #12 is going to go 75 yards into the forest. He'll turn to his caddy and say "i hit that exactly like i wanted to"

The bigger issue is if he dunks it in the water...

Push fade is a high push fadeto the right... slice can be somewhat high too but usually  lower and left slicing back hard to the right. If you watch any pga golf on tv you would notice on some courses even with crowds the players have a tough time locating their ball. While not many, they hit wild shots too. Im just saying either way its a help. Ive played a pga course this year and the conditions were so manicured their was no mistaking if a shot was your fault or the lack of course management. That being said.. yeah id expect a pro to do wayyy better in any tougher situation or conditions we might face.

Guaranteed that some of the courses I play, they would lose a ball here and there.  And just to find out what happens to Pro's when there are no crowds, ask Harris English how his 1st hole went at the US Open.

That would tell me what happens to Harris English one round in eleven years, not "to pros".

I don't know what "they would lose a ball here and there" means.  Of course someone could lose a ball.  But the idea that having a gallery to spot wayward or rough-buried tee shots is some huge advantage is really stupid.

How many times have you lost a ball that is a couple of yards off the fairway in the rough and you just can't find it?  Bet it happens more than a few times a year.  That doesn't happen on the PGA Tour.  That's a huge advantage to any one's score.  Jack went 13 years without losing a ball in his heyday.  No matter how far off-line he hit, there were people there to find it.

LMAO looking down at those giant shovels all the local pros tell us about.  Hes gonna shoot 100 over.

Also how is he going to WORK THE BALL!!! He obviously just wants to lose.

I play “shovels” and there isn’t a shot I can’t hit them. High, low, fade, draw. It’s about club face angle and control in addition to swing path. Offset clubs are workable. That myth was busted decades ago...

it can’t happen a couple times a year and be a “huge advantage”. That’s ridiculous.

Again, ask Harris English how much of a difference it would have made if they had found his ball while he was in contention for $2.25 million.

I can’t tell if you are serious or messing with me that is so dumb.

I can't help that you can't figure it out.  The chance to win a Major versus being out of contention 5 minutes after teeing off in the last round of a Major is huge.  It's an advantage to any player to have galleries and forecaddies out there every round you play to find wayward balls for you.

Phil must be chasing ball speed as he ages to remain competitive on tour.

His driving distance is good by tour standards but hits a low % of fairways. Obviously reaching.

I doubt he has ever had a good fairway %.  He excels at wedge play and putting (most of the time).  If he is average with his wedges, he has a poor week.

Putting poorly right now too.

His around the green work is the only stat he is in the top 100, and only barely at that.

Still far too good for the seniors tour though.
