Agreed...curious how Brad Dalke is playing this prototype driver. I know he was a great college player, but didnt know pxg picked him up cause he isnt on tour i dont believe.  I wonder if he is the one the prototype was put on the conforming list for?

Man, the screws are either love ‘em or hate ‘em. I absolutely love the screws. I would genuinely love to know what percentage of PXG’ers like them and what percentage do not.

I have a love/hate relationship with the weights. I like the 0211 irons because they look cleaner without the weights, and are still a great iron without them. The gen2 hybrid is a great example of what the weights are for, as they allow a single model to encompass both a "player's" hybrid and a "max" version with a single head in different weight configurations. Then there's the current sugar daddy wedges with like, a dozen weights that make the clubs look super cool, but a nightmare to clean.

That’s a silly thing to say, especially here. The pros talk about the aesthetics of their equipment all the time. I prefer irons that look good and perform well for my game. I think most here would agree.

I'm pretty sure they mean the look of it as they're looking down at the face...Most of them don't care what the back of an iron looks like because no one ever sees it except when it's in the bag...

Agreed I'm really into the looks, but it's the top and size. Not the bottom or back.

The weights, for me, allow me to achieve a near MOI matched set with a TLT build. Almost impossible to do with any other OEM club unless you want lead tape added. Weights are a huge advantage for building clubs. In terms of looks, I'm fine with or without them. I like the looks of the 0211 without the weights.

The poster above also nailed it regarding the hybrids. The weights allow for two totally different hybrids depending how they are positioned.

Yes, the Master Fitter in my region told me that it's the Gen 4 Driver, Fairways & Hybrids that are coming out this Spring. That would make sense, keeping to the 2-year cycle (alternating irons & woods on 2-year cycles). Also, the Gen 4 Driver may be a very similar evolution from the 2 Protos, following tour feedback.

Same here....sold my full sets of the ST blades and 0311T last Spring.  Going TM for now.

I just don't see anything here that will move the TM stuff out of the bag.

 

The 0211 ST blade and 0211 FB irons look fine but nothing for me to make a change.

Probably the same for the 0211 woods.

I will be more interested in the GEN4 stuff coming this April.

 

But we will see...as a WRX ho anything in the bag is never safe and can and will be moved at a moments notice!

Which TM iron did you move to, if you don’t mind me asking. I play a rotation of PXG, TM and, every few years, a PING offering. So I’m always curious to hear what others are going to when they move from PXG to TM or vice versa.

Missed the "hammer/nail" feel of a blade so got some Tiger irons and after a few range sessions the 0311T irons were gone.  The 0311ST blades simply did not have a tough enough finish...I could leave a mark in the soft milling with my fingernail!

 

I have the Tiger blades along with a set of P790 (456), P770 (56), P7MC (78) and P7MB (9P).

Definitely not gonna see the 0311 Gen4s for while yet. We haven't even got the Gen3 Woods and Hybrids yet. The gen2 0211s just released and we are set to see the 0211 FBs Iron/0211 Driver released soon as well.

Theyre skipping Gen3 due to Proto guess now called Gen4

I still love PXG, but I think it’s time for them to abandon the claim that they only release new clubs when there’s a significant performance improvement. It definitely seems as tho they’re moving towards an annual line release like many other OEMs who make silly claims about the new product being “x” percent better than last year’s model...
 

It will also be very interesting to see how they move forward with pricing. Surely they won’t release the Gen 4 irons at $425 now that the Gen 3’s have been half the price for months. If that’s the case, their sales will drop significantly at the time of release as everyone will know they’ll be deeply discounted in a matter of months. What’s equally as strange is that the new sugar daddy wedges are still 650, along with the ST line. I guess the 100% milled line is still that exclusive since there really isn’t anything else like it on the market.

Wonder if PXG will move away from screws in the next Gen4 designed irons?  I wonder if new wedges are coming too?

If I had to guess, I’d say the Gen 4 0311’s will keep the screws. The screws are PXG’s identity, like it or not, and they visually delineate the 0311 from the 0211.
