Plus they can be used to build proper swing weight...

This is key.

I switched to Gen2s because I have wonky build for my single plane swing and it was easy to do with PXG and the weight screws. It's an amazing feature that many just think is a gimmick.
If not for the weight screws, I would have to use tip weights, tungsten powder or lead tape. The first two can bring the CG closer to the heel which is a negative.

The reality is, as PXG moves from Gen2 to Gen3 to eventually Gen4... there isn't much performance difference from the head... so the guy on a budget can get the Gen2s for $150/stick or waiting until the Gen4s come to market and probably get the Gen3 for similar money.

It's like buying technology, the latest and greatest TV will always cost you an arm and a leg but the average TV watcher will not notice a difference and benefits from the small gains down the road, as the tech trickles down and becomes more affordable.
I like PXG's new strategy, making the 0211 for the masses and pricing them below PING by going DTC. This will give them more buying power with their manufacturers and get costs down for us blue collar guys in the future.

I, for one, definitely noticed a difference in feel between Gen 2 and Gen 3. Maybe I’ve bought into some of the hype. But the dual core concept makes perfect sense and, no matter how significant or insignificant it may be, I’ve noticed it.

Needless to say, I’m very interested to see how they market the Gen 4s.

When I tested both the Gen2 and Gen3 in the P version, there was 2-3 yards better distance in the Gen3 which to me was margin. There might be a difference in feel because I use use Accra graphite shafts so they may mute the difference. I think the milled back looks better in the Gen3 but it wasn't enough to drop another $1000 for a set of 7.
I will probably pick up a set when the Gen4s come out and I can buy them for $150/stick.

I did notice the feel difference as well. But I really liked the milled look of the Gen 3, that's what sold me.

Really curious about the Gen 4's and what changes they make.

Bummer no weight in the toe. I play  the heavy weight in the toe of my Proto+.

I would guess it’s toe bias’d and the weighting in the heel brings it back to neutral or heel bias’d

I think the hybrids are the best thing PXG makes.  Gen 1 is still my favorite hybrids of all time.  I dont generate alot of spin so I stuck with Gen 1 over gen 2 but gen 2 feel better, just spin a bit less.  They are anti hook and amazing.  Highly recommend their hybrids

Concur, their Gen2 hybrids are the best I've ever hit/played. And I hit a lot of companies hybrids. Gen4 will need to be really special to unseat them.

I'm an equipment junkie, but even I think I'll hold onto the proto for a few cycles, maybe snag another proto head just for good keeping.

While there are some, I'm sure not many people are taking advantage of the toe weight option. I'm sure they've taken this issue into consideration per the Gen4 design. Guess we'll have to wait and see until they talk about it when released.

I played the Adams Pro A12 Hybrids for years and the PXG's are the only ones to ever knock them out of there bag.
