What’s up everyone!! New addition to the bag today!

 

I’ve been hitting my Cally Rogue ST Max Driver and Hybrid really well this season, but the contrast of looking down at the SIM2 Ti in the 3W spot was a little annoying.

 

So I’m testing out a new Paradym X 3W and giving an all-Callaway top end of my bag a shot. We’ll see how it goes!

Yup, pretty much!! I’m constantly hunting for the next club that will help me reach the “perfect bag” status!

 

And what’s crazy is that I’ve actually slowed down my bag turnover dramatically, but technically there’s still only 2 clubs in my bag that I used last season, Lol.

I didn’t get the Rogue ST Max Fairway because I didn’t like the shallow face, and I prefer adjustable Fairways.

 

But since the Paradym X Fairway has the right Lie Angle, and is adjustable (first adjustable Callaway Fairway that I’ve seen), I figured it was worth a shot.

 

For the Driver spot, I’ve been hitting the Rogue ST Max really well this season, so haven’t been able to justify a new Driver.

 

Definitely curious to see if the Paradym X could be even better than the Rogue ST Max though. Once we get into end-of-season sales I’ll consider picking one up to test out.
 

So far though the Rogue ST Max has been the best Driver I’ve ever hit, so it won’t be easy to replace. Plus I’ve learned not to mess with a club you’re hitting well during the season.

Went back to a Nike Air Sport 2.0 bag today!

 

Used an older version of this bag last year, and going back to it from my Vessel/TM bag.
 

Loved the look and craftsmanship of the Vessel, but was getting tired of battling club tangle constantly with the smaller slots and overall smaller bag size.

 

Also decided to drop my ZX Driving Iron because I just couldn’t hit the thing consistently or trust it fully. So new 4-iron on the way…stay tuned!

Just a quick update that it was a very short stay for the Nike Air Sport 2.0 bag.
 

Only used it 1 round and it already started showing more signs of wear than my Vessel/TM Lite Lux bag is showing after 30+ rounds, Lol.

 

Just nowhere near the same level of materials and craftsmanship.

 

Got a couple of fun new headcovers delivered today too! Just waiting for my new 4-iron to be delivered and this will be the setup I’ll finish the season with until end-of-season sales and new releases come out over the off-season!

A couple of quick updates as we start the weekend.

 

The ball testing continues to try and find the best fit. I tested a bunch more balls yesterday, and the Titleist Velocity surprised me as the top performer!
 

I was on track to use just that 1 ball for the full 18 and it was performing beautifully, but then I pulled out the Paradym X 3-Wood on a tight Dog-leg Par 4 and hit it into the trees…Ugh!!

 

Picked up a box after the round though, and will spend some time with these to see if they can be my new go-to’s!

 

The other update is that I saw the new MG4’s at my Golf shop yesterday, and it turns out I actually prefer the look of the MG3’s. The top line just looks too thin for me, they don’t fit my eye, and I’m not a fan of the feel with the lighter shafts. Oh well… 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

Gotta upgrade that speaker spot.....Good deals on Bose Soundlink Flex, you can play music for the whole course with that beast

 

It's a bit chunky but it's loud!

That headcover is actually called “Beer Bear”, so no affiliation with the Bruins. I’m definitely not a Hockey guy by any means.

 

And I’m definitely not a Lakers fan either. I’m a die-hard Raptors fan, but Kobe was my favourite player while he was in the league (along with Tim Duncan), and I’ve always been the guy arguing he is the G.O.A.T. even before his passing.

 

I don’t discriminate though…also have Steph Curry, MJ, and Scottie Barnes headcovers, so just depends what day you catch me on, Lol.

Unfortunately my speaker not being loud enough is definitely not a problem on the course. 

All I ever hear is “turn it down” or “turn it off”, Lol.

 

Some courses in the Maritimes even have rules against speakers on the course, which is absolutely ridiculous.

Bahaha!! Why the sad face, not a fan of Canada, Lol?

 

I did live in the States for 5 years (2010-15), but have been back in Canada since then. Won't get into why I left the States, that's a whole other can of worms that has nothing to do with Golf or equipment.

It’s ok, you can say it. Our poutine down here is terrible. We’ve had top men working on it for years, but we just can’t get it right. 
 

It’s shameful, and I honestly can’t blame you for giving up.

I love Canada , but there's many US cities I love too....Id move to Boston tomorrow. 

 

I've never had a bad time in Dallas. My boss is from there actually

I’ve always had a good time in Canada. I haven’t been there in years. Need to get back at some point. 
 

Tons of great food in Dallas. You can get anything here (I’m still hunting for a good Cajun food spot though). I travel a lot around the US for work and it’s always fun to hunt out good dining spots. 
 

Try Pagliuca’s next time you’re in Boston. It’s straight out of Goodfellas. Best lasagna I’ve ever had.

My boss like al dente. We always go there. 

 

When I'm in Boston alone I usually stay north of the city cause I drive. Like Woburn area

That whole North End is great. Hard to go wrong. Our move there is a nice meal and then walk to one of the Italian bakeries for a cannoli. Of course it’s instant food coma after that but you gotta live once in a while!

My community (about 60 miles outside of Boston) is mostly people of French-Canadian heritage. There is a 3 hour line to get poutines and raupee (sp?) every fall at the local church fair. My wife loves the poutines and I get nauseous at thought of it but sit in that line every october drenched in that awful odor. That is a food that I just don't get.

Truth be told I'm not a huge poutine guy either. It's fine....I make a fried chicken poutine every now and then. 

 

But it's overrated IMO. Montreal would be better served to highlight bagels or smoked meat.

Sorry I missed the lively chat yesterday Gentlemen, I was hunkered down with the family because of Hurricane Lee…Ugh!!

 

I definitely love a lot of cities in the U.S….Dallas, D.C., Denver, Boston, and Fort Lauderdale/Miami are probably my favourites!!

 

Just the mass shootings and gun culture I could never wrap my head around as a father to 2 young kids.

 

I’m overdue for a visit though…maybe a Winter Golf trip sometime this Winter!

 

I’m a HUGE fan of the BBQ in Dallas, KC, and North Carolina too…Mmmmm!!!!

I've been to Schwartz before I know locals it's love or hate for them. It was good we got takeout from Snowdon last time and that was good as well.
