They're indifferent. Whereas Callaway is at least getting the 'I dont like the new graphics but at least this performs!'

From the ones I've watched so far, no one is coming out and saying SIM 2 is terrible, but there is a lot of statements to the effect of; this could be good for certain players, others might think the original SIM was better. Just seems like a lot of indifference on it compared to things like Ping G425 and Cobra Rad where there were very specific positive things said about those drivers

The SIM2 and Callaway were very close for me. I think the SIM2 looks much better. The SIM2 does seem to launch and spin a bit more than SIM.

We sold a crap ton of SIMs, just like the irons.  I was shocked frankly of how many left.  If this gets a bit more launch and spin, this should help a LOT of golfers who want to try TM.

You could tell the TXG guys were not impressed. Sim2 spun about 400 rpm more than Sim and that was about the only difference in other words it's shorter. Ian also expressed his disappointment in the lack of moveable weight saying that from a fitting perspective Taylormade is now behind the competition and it's going to be a harder club to fit than SIM because of it.

Rick Shiels saw absolutely no gains and couldn't tell the difference between Sim2 and Sim2 Max, numbers were almost identical. Closed out his video flat out calling it all marketing hype.

Alex Etches reviewed the fairway which will be either loved or hated, I think mostly hated because it was driver long which most will see as a bad thing. The gap between Driver and 3 wood seems like it will be too small.

All in all they seemingly took a very successful line of clubs and went backwards. Those are the three I have seen thus far.

Seems like the first cycle of drivers from Callaway and Taylormade always spin the least and are the least forgiving.  At least with the Epic, M-series and SIM.

M1 and M2 were pretty low spin. Not sure why they have that strategy.

I agree, I was shocked at the amount of reviews that were very lukewarm about it.  For those on the fence, the reviews will definitely either drive them to last years SIM or into the arms of the G425 or RAD...

I think we’ve just reached a point of critical mass for drivers. All of the OEM’s make great stuff, but with the restrictions put in place it’s hard to make a driver that’s a) substantially better than last year’s b) substantially better than your competition. That’s even tougher when companies are asking $500 plus a pop. I had a bunch of shop credit to burn last summer and picked up a Mavrik Sub Zero at a Callaway fitting day. The new stuff this year is all good but nothing moves me enough to drop $500 at the moment. I can make it another season with what I have.

Just started the TXG live and they started off agreeing with Shiels. Max and regular Sim2 are too close to coexist.

Really odd that the 3 wood can't be colored to match the driver.

Odd to see a taylormade with no left to right adjustment.

I like the cleaner lines, but would have to change the color, but then it wouldn't match my fairway.  Delimna for sure...

The other big disappointment to me is they finally bring back a 4 wood in the SIM2 Max and it's 190cc lolSeason 10 Finale GIF by Curb Your Enthusiasm

The general thought seems to be "why 2 drivers, they're basically the same driver". And numbers-wise, they're a tiny step back from sim. It seems the sim2 will perform a bit better for those who strike high on the face.

The reviews have pretty much confirmed what I thought...sim2:sim as 17m:16m

Just really hard to improve on a driver that made a significant leap (16m and sim).

Possibly.. I am not saying your wrong. Maybe they decided to sacrifice a bit of ball speed for a bit of stability. The SIM was for sure a ball speed monster.. Tough to top that.

I know the SIM gets a lot of love. Rightfully so.  But, I know some people who just could not get enough spin out of it.  If the Sim2 is more stable and a little higher spin, it may appeal to a broader audience.  Plus, the deeper face definitely puts it on my radar now.  I did not care for the footprint of last year's model.

Yep. And those of us who popped a heavier backweight on have basically gotten sim2 with mwt. WIN

Seems every OEM 'needs' to keep on cycle, regardless of performance issues.  Even if it barely outperforms it's previous iteration.  There comes a time when drivers reach the peak of performance, as close to max COR as possible.
