New Mizuno MPs just announced! Mizuno Pro 221/223/225

I'm curious to hear about the 221's lead times.  Can anyone that has received a set of 221's let me know how it took for them to arrive?

To all my Club Champion friends still waiting...

 

I just got an update on my order, they have finally been "received" after sitting in their warehouse for 3 weeks (to the day) and they expedited the build and they should be shipping Thursday or Friday and be at my doorstep on Monday 4/25.

 

These were ordered on 1/8/2022 (Mizuno received the order on 1/10/2022).

 

I did the irrational thing and bought a set that was at a nearby Golf Galaxy and have been using those for the last few weeks (slightly different build from my CC ordeR) and I am REALLY enjoying them. Debating which to go with, what I got fitted for or what is currently working great. Regardless, expect a set to go on the BST within the next week or so 🤣

Thanks. That's good news although my 2/15 225 order still says "waiting for components" when I checked the order status on their website. What really bothers me is with the exception of a short response from my single email to him a few weeks back, my fitter has made no attempt to contact me with an update on my order that is now 6 weeks overdue.

Id call mizuno, my 225 order is being made this week and It was ordered 2/21

There should be a link on their website but you can just search "Club Champion order status". Then you put in your order number and your last name and it'll give you an update, although my status hasn't changed in over a month.

You could also call Mizuno hotline with your order number and they could track the progress

My 223s (5-GW) finally arrived today! Ordered through Discount Dans 1/26 (DG120, TV Cord grips, Mizuno Icon ferrules (for which DD didn’t charge any fee)). Lengths look spot on, shafts all nicely logo down and while one grip isn’t perfectly aligned, logo down means I don’t care. 
 

Have an indoor session already booked for Thursday to try them out and then will get them on the course this weekend!

 Not irrational - makes perfect sense- I have done the same thing with more set s than I can count at this point. May start my own fitting studio - 

 

what does your CC set up look like vs the stock set?

CC set is Project X LZ 6.0, 4 and 5 iron bent 1* strong and Golf Pride Z grips.

 

The GG set was the Modus 115 with MCC grips. Really liking the Modus 115.

I was fit into the project x IO 6.0, but the LZ 6.0 were a close second. Just liked the feel of the IO a little better. 
 

I have the modus 115s in my 221 and 223 set. Really love it. It’s so much smoother than the Project X IO or LZ, but can still handle my aggressive transition. 
 

I feel like you always have to go a little harder with the PX shafts. The modus let’s you be easy and smooth or really get after it at. 
 

i now trying out the KBS C-taper lite 110 stiff and the kbs $-taper 120 stiff… b/c why not…. Curious if anyone has any feedback on how they all the compare. Especially to the new modus 115 and PX IO.

This is exactly what I told @ABOsborn20 about the Modus 115. Super super smooth. I havent had enough time with the LZ to really compare. He has the IO in his 225s and he really likes them.

 

I played C Tapers in some MP 64s a few years back. Not the lites, but the feedback I can give is that the C Tapers are unbelievably stable but a little harsh. I played those in stiff as well and I felt like I really need to go at it aggressively. I am NOT an aggressive swinger, quite the opposite.

I had C-Taper Lites in my last set (was on the fence between them and Modus 105 at the time). The CTLs are definitely on the "boardy" side of things and after a while I regretted going with them because while they were more stable when I really went after them, when I'm playing golf (as opposed to playing just golf swing) it just was a bit much for me to handle. 

 

It has been a winding path to my newest set, originally was planning to get Titleist T200s in the fall and the fitter steered me away from Modus at the time because the lead times were bonkers (little did we know the heads would also be on backorder for unending months and months) and we tried DG120s for a similar easy/more "active" feel and I really fell in love with the shafts... then got so frustrated with the Titleist never ending extending of lead times, the MPs got released and so I switched to my 223s but stuck with the DGs instead of Modus.

I agree with everyone on C tapers. The stiffs feel like a Stiff+ and very "boardy". I have the C taper in my "original Fly hi" 21 degree (model after the T-zoid version) and while it's nice and solid off the tee. I feel like it's way too stiff to be using it off the deck in the fairways and wouldn't enjoy playing them in all my irons. I might re-shaft it to a modus to match the 223 on order or go to a  graphite shaft.

You can get the stock KBS tour.  Just no c-taper, $-taper etc.

I got the IO 6.0 - i was originally told 3-5 weeks, thn 3/29 then when i called on 4/5 i was told "they'll be shipping out in a few days" then told 4/19 and now I'm told mid may.... pretty frustrating. And whats odd is i also ordered T22 wedges with the LZ 6.0 shaft and they haven't come yet either  - i know they probably want to combine the orders for shipping purposes but this is getting crazy
