Just got my CC build delivered. They always brag about quality control and making sure the sets are PERFECT, but they have the wrong grips on my clubs. The order sheet clearly states Golf Pride Z Grips, but I got stock Tour Velvets.

Truly unbelievable. I really hope nobody here orders anything from CC again.

Thats brutal sorry to hear that.   I hope there is some good option to fix your issue.

On the bright side, Mizuno killed it this year with all three models. You will love your irons.

Yeah, its a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things, but since its been issue after issue after issue, it really is just the cherry on top.

I like golf. A lot.

It should definitely mean that. My DD's order hit my credit card last Friday (the 15th), got my shipping info from DD's later that same day and clubs showed up on Tuesday.

Not even close. C Taper are feel waaaay more stiff. $ Taper are much smoother and easier to hit IMO

I have hit the $-taper 120 and the C-taper lite 110S.

the $-taper felt a little loose fit me, just ever so slightly…  but the C-taper lite was really tight and smooth. Had a slightly better trajectory as well.

Finally got to try the 223 and 225 today for only a few swings at PGA SS. The 223 just look so perfect at address. Been playing P790/PXG 0211/PXG 0311P and loving the look of the smaller 223. Felt amazing and still felt plenty forgiving. Does giving up a few yards make a difference in scoring? I am ready to take the plunge for more a more players iron coming from years of players distance irons.

The number on the bottom of the iron is just a number. As long as you have consistent gapping between irons, then who cares about a few extra yards?

I play the MP20 MMCs and have played my best golf ever the past 18 months. I know exactly how far my irons will fly and never get any crazier flyers like I used to with my JPX clubs.

the difference for me is long iron forgiveness.

i like smaller heads 7-p, but i can use a little more real estate in the 4 and 5 irons, and sometimes the 6 depending on specific head.

I am loving the fli hi 4 iron, it's truly a great club. The 223s are proving to be a little more punishing on mishits than I'd like. I'm frustrated because I love how they look and feel, but I might just be too I consistent for them.

I am trying out the 225’s with the UTry program from global golf. They are rocket launchers. I’m currently playing the Apex CF16 and hit the 6 iron 170ish yards average carry.  I’ve hit the 225’s on skytrak a few times comparing the CF16 and the 225. The average carry for the 225 6 iron is 186 yards while still maintaining good launch conditions. Spin dropped a bit but decent angle is good. Crazy how much longer these are!

I got a 4-GW of 225’s to demo and there are some major gaps for some of the clubs:

-GW: 110 carry

-PW: 120 carry

-9i: 136 carry

-8i: 155 carry

-7i: 169 carry

-6i: 186 carry

-5i: 194 carry

-4i: 202 carry

i really like everything about these irons so far but gapping concerns me. I’ve never played a 4 iron so probably would drop that for a hybrid but trying to figure out the gapping on all the other clubs. Is it an issue bending some irons 2 degrees weak and 2 strong?  How much does that mess with offset or bounce if there’s that much variation bending weak and strong?  Anyone else dealing seeing this and have any recommendations?

I demoed 225s today at Mizuno store.

Has anyone ordered 225s with weaker lofts for spin?

I had ok launch/height, but spin was a little low like 4100-4200 for 7i.  Distance was nuts, averaged ~175-178 carry, 180-185 with rollout, recoil 95 stiff, 7i SS just mid 80s.

Fitter suggested 1-2* weaker to get spin up, maybe takes care of flyers.

I forgot to ask lead-time…what are folks seeing now?

I have weakened the loft on my 225's 1*. I would just order them with the stock lofts. Its very easy to have them adjusted if needed.

Good they have your grips since Golf pride apparently in very short supply.  A pxg guy told me they were charging $30/grip for anything Golfpride because they can’t get them.

PGASS had very little grip inventory today - but they amazingly did have my mid MCC+4 aligns so I bought extras.
So sounds like Mizuno running about 7-8 weeks, unless maybe they’re catching up.

I've been having better luck with golf galaxy for grips.  my local store has plenty stock of every color mcc+4, even the teams colors.

Ordered April 5 from CC.

Today advised that ETA for shafts (NPM3 120X) is 5/21. ETA for MP 225 (4 and 5 iron) is 5/21 and MP 223 (6 thru pw) is 5/31.  Then they must build them.

At least the grips arrived already 🙂

My local shop contacted Mizuno to get an update on my order and said there was no shortage of the 120’s but that was last week lol.  I went online through another shop to configure a 4 iron build of a 921 HMP just to see if there were any inventory issues and the 120X is now on back order.

I didnt either, interesting.

I have been playing with the S300 AMT Tour White in my JPX 919 for a few years now. I have been an S300 player pretty much my whole life. I got fitted this past weekend and I let the fitter do his job, though deep down I wanted to be in the S300. I ended up in Project X LZ 6.0 to kick up the spin a little bit. I will certainly give them a proper run but if something feels off after a few months, you bet your a** I am going back to my S300s.

are you hitting the PX higher then the s300? I am hitting the ball too low with my s3000 and was looking for more height. How do u compare the 2 shafts?

This is a quick way to get an idea what True Temper shaft to use.  Not a True fitting but it explains their shaft profiles with what you want out of your swing type.

The Srixons and Mizunos are at opposite ends of the bounce spectrum. I find the low bounce of the Mizunos (the sole width is cambered and probably gives it an “effective bounce” slightly higher than specs) feels better for me through the turf than the Srixon high bounce v-sole. But that is very individual. I encounter a lot of tight lies and/or courses with thin turf and the Mizunos handle those shots well.

can u please explain this. I own the srixon 765 and hit alot of thin/on the bottom shots. Currently considering 223/225 vs the srixon zx7/zx5 and after reading your post i was wondering if the Mizuno with less bounce will cut through the turf better. I have only hit the zx5 and hit a few shots where the club just bounced off the turf and made bad contact. Any helped would be appreciated
